The smartest, most timeless sunglasses?

With the shape of my face, it's hard finding sunglasses that look right. Case in point, I tried on Ray Ban aviators at Sunglasses Hut and the sales person had a violent reaction. "No," she said. "You don't ever need to wear those." LOL

I've got the Ray Ban New Wayfarer in matte black — very comfortable. Very casual.
I've also got the Ray Ban Caravans in 57mm. They don't look quite so classic that big, but the 55mm just wouldn't fit my face.

I had a pair of Ray Ban Wayfarers (not the new, what they currently sell as the classic style) in tortoise with green polarized lens. Those looked amazing, but they were heavy and hurt the bridge of my nose something fierce. They got stolen a few months after I bought them and I wasn't too sorry to see them go, that's how bad they hurt. They did look incredible, though.

I've also got 4 pair of Persol. Two of them are vintage frames from the '90s / early 2000s. One is a wireframe that somebody put rose colored lenses in and I love those things in the fall and spring, but they're pretty beat up. Another is just a narrow square Havana plastic frame with green lens that I got cheap to have for things like mowing the yard or working on the car. They were like new when I got them and I haven't done much with them, but they're actually starting to come back into style.

My most-worn glasses are a pair of Persol PO3048 in Havana with brown lenses. I just had to have the temples replaced because a dog got into them (not the dog in my picture), but they look like brand new now. They have the classic Wayfarer shape and actually fit me comfortably, unlike the RayBan Wyfarers I had. I barely know that I have them on.

I also have a pair of Persol 2803 in Havana with amber lens. Those are literally the most comfortable glasses I own but it took years of fitting them and having them refit to get them to a place where they don't slide off my nose. Now that they're right, I wear them a lot. They're not classic in the sense that most of you pull off, but they look good on me with a hat or with a ball cap or with a t-shirt or with a suit and tie. By far, they're the most versatile frames I own.

Style wise, yes. But the worst possible choice for tiding a motorcycle without a helmet with face shield. The nose stand-offs direct the wind right into your tear ducts and the tears blow across your eyes, blinding you. Wayfarers are a much better choice in this application.

Excellent points!

At least Brando kept his mouth shut.
Besides stinging the face, flying
insects can be very salty unless you
have a beer to wash them down.

Yep I bought wayfarers months ago and the difference riding with them is very noticeable.

Was given a pair of the Ray-Ban Wayfarer "Tortoise-shell" folding style
last christmas.
They are lighter and wear them all the time on the courts.
