The short length of Aero-leather CR

Good morning, folks.

It's my first time buying an aero CR jacket.

I'm 5.77 ft (176 cm),
Weighs 163 lb (74 kg).

Here is a problem.
It's my short upper body.

I have a bizarre proportion. The torso is too short compared to legs.
That's why I very sensitive to the length of blouson jacket.

Even the 24inch(61cm) jacket length feels long to me.

Please look at the picture.
You can see that my torso is short, right?

And
This jacket is a 24inch jacket.
The front and back length cover the pants pocket.
20231015_205835.jpg

And This jacket is only 22.5 inches long.
Only this short jacket is satisfies me.

20231015_205804.jpg

Let me ask you a question.
I know Aero Leather is not a Bespoke jacket.
But If I wear a size 40,
Is there a limit of jacket length customization?
Can it be that short??

I haven't seen short CR jacket review in this forum.
Have any of you ever ordered such a short jacket?

I look forward to your kind reply.
Thank you all.

Call Aero, or message TFL member @Hide'n'seek (from Aero) for best info. Cafe racer jackets tend to be on the longer side, you definitely need a shorter body length.
Thank you for your reply. I wrote here because it's hard to expect a quick answer from Aero.
I want someone to stretch me out in my heart. lol

I hope someone here had a shortened version of an Aero CR. Whether to 22.5" back length is another story. Hopefully @Hide'n'seek will be able to answer your question.

I'm sure Aero will accommodate your request. In my (limited) experience they are more "bespoke" or custom than you might expect. I specified quite a few measurements (back length, sleeve length, waist width, bottom hem width, shoulders, chest..) and every single one was nailed almost perfectly.

Awesome!! ^o^
I'm sure it's the best thing to do today by sign up for the Fedora Lounge.
I'm glad my humble torso can fit the perfect jacket.

Your shoulder and upper back development accentuate your torso depth, are you by chance 'hollow backed' (your lower spine arching slightly inwards from the back)?

The 22.5 looks much better on you. As the guys have said Aero are pretty damn good on the Customer service, give them a call.

This is a 25.5 (hits just over the belt)

I'm sure they can shorten it to 22.5" back length. I've seen they do some very short CR's so shouldn't be an issue but that's really something you should be asking them, as others have suggested.

I think size 40 is somewhere around 25" ish in stock length. But the Aero CR wears shorter than it measures because the collar is rotated forward about an inch compared to your existing jackets. So 25" back is gonna wear like 24". Also anytime if modifying more than 1.5"-2" I would really suggest to just look at another pattern without compromising the existing pattern. My best guess is that stock size 40 minus 1.5"-2" in length should work for you. I have this jacket in size 42 with added length but it wears shorter than the numbers would suggest.

That's sick!!
The fit of your jacket makes me dizzy.
The end point of my question is because of photos like yours.
Yes, I gained back muscle with a little exercise.
I will definitely get the right jacket.
Thank you for your comments ^~^

Thank you for responding. I got a reply from Aero.
They said 22.5 inches is too short.
But it was before they saw my back picture.
I think they understand after seeing that.
I'm just afraid hear that it's hard to cut back.

As you said, they say a size 40 is 25 inches.
It's so long on my bloody back that it's like stealing my dad's jacket.
I want to avoid that. ^^;
I'd like to extend it to 23 inches considering what you said.
thanks

Simple solution... low rise jeans ;-)
I think your jackets are too tight at the hem for the length. That's why it compresses at the back.
Also, I'm not sure if you really need a 40 for the CR. It's not a slim fit model. And of course, if you go down a size, the back length will be shorter.

My chest size is 40.5 So Aero doesn't even mention size 38. And little junior is frustrated Wearing low-rise. :(

I have a 43.5 and a 42 is the perfect size on a CR for me.
So my guess would be that a 38 would fit you. Unless you like it very relaxed.
Btw, you are my idole..♡.♡ It's an honor to reply.
I would have preferred a tight-fitting jacket if I was a little younger, but now I prefer enough room to raise my arms.
Thank you for advice!

I hope it's to your liking.

It was mentioned earlier, but I think a Vanson Comet would suit you very well. Vanson does quite a bit with short jackets in several of their models. Older ones had a 22" back length (in a size 44) so if you contact them I'm sure they would happy supply you one exactly to your preferred sizing.

  • SIZES....32..34..36..38..40..42..44..46..48..50..52..54..56..58..60..62
  • Size 42 ---Chest measures 47.5 inches = there is 5.5 ease in this fit.
  • Back length is 24 - Front 21.5 - Sleeves are 35.5
  • Bottom circumference sweep of the jacket is 41 inches.
  • These jackets are short - and may not suit people over 6 ft. tall.
  • These jackets follow classic race suit design with broad shoulders and
  • narrow waist.

Thank you for letting me know about Vanson.
Vanson is cool, but I take this opportunity to experience Aero's leather.
They were willing to make it, so I bet on it.
