The "Sharknose" Graham

Hemmings Motor News has a Graham “Spirit of Motion” sedan up for grabs at the moment.

The front-end styling on these babies is without match, but I’ve always felt like they gave up when they hit the cowl. Fit this chassis (making sure to specify the supercharged engine) with a coachbuilt convertible body ala the Packard Darrin, and I think we’d really have something.

Remember the Airflow - it was enough of a (perceived) disaster to limit modern car design to gingerbread for the next 15 years. I think it took the double-ended Studebaker to break the trend.

Oh, the Airflow Incident made Depression-era car designers a bit gunshy for sure; but would it really have been so daring to fit this car with a fastback ala the '38 Ford? I think it at least would have flowed then.

I mean, you can't be daring half way, you'll alienate both the stylish folks and the conservative folks.
