The seven-button henley (a la Hugh Jackman in "Australia")

It's apparently called a "Shearer's shirt", although any information under that name all but ceases to exist. It's a seven-buttoned short-sleeved henley with a straight collar. Looks like cotton if you ask me.

Anybody know where we can find these? I think this would be a great article of adventure clothing - really just quite ideal - and I wouldn't mind acquiring a few of them.

I managed to find a somewhat close representation from Kohl's, but it has only three buttons, and sports a "t-shirt" style collar...

Truly khaki.... or severely unwashed? lol

Looks good to me too, maybe the sort of thing you might see listed as an undershirt in Western-wear suppliers? Try some online sutlers for Wild West period clothing...

I like the Henley, but I don't think I've ever seen a seven button version. On the other hand, that cravat he's wearing looks stylish as well. :)

Do you really think its a cravat or just a fancy bandana-type scarf. It looks like more of a homespun type of cloth...

Australia...

I want that hat... anybody know where I could get something similar? C'mon Akubra!

As far as the Henley goes, it looks awesome on Jackman, but I think the styling might be a little far-fetched for everyday wear (says the guy who wants the rugged bowler-type hat Jackman's wearing...). Honestly though, I think a plain 3-4 button henley would fit the bill, the trouble is finding the blasted things. It seems like there isn't much variety where henleys are concerned, so if anyone knows any cheap sources...

Why do you ask?
Just a thought, but I'd bet Magnoli Clothiers would be able to recreate the shirt, and cravat/bandana. Has anyone contacted IndyMagnoli about it?

And RP McMurphy, I don't think the styling is too far-fetched for everyday wear. I could EASILY put one into seamless use in my wardrobe.

That being said, I'd be down for one if they became stock.. from him or anyone, provided the price wasn't astronomical.

I found one of these at Target the other day and I think it could work. It's only got four buttons, but the collar is long enough that it retains more or less the same look as the seven-button version. The material is also very lightweight and breathable, more akin to a true undershirt.
If the sleeves were cut I think it's about as close as we could get from store stock. Maybe even add some more buttons if you're a stickler.

Hugh Jackman is in incredible physical shape. Frankly the shirt he is wearing may look great but on anyone who doesn't workout the same way he does it probably won't look nearly as "cool" or whatnot. Its like wearing a polo shirt, if you wear it after a workout you may think you look tough, but if you wear it after a large meal, it won't do anything to hide your gut.

What?? When does anyone think a polo looks tough? lol

I'm saying if you spend 4 hours a day at the gym like Arnold Schwaerzenegger you may look buff and show off physique in a polo shirt. But if you aren't a body builder the same shirt may look very.. unflattering to say the least.

Does anyone know where to get clothes similar to what Hugh Jackman wore in the movie Australia. Especially interested in his shirt in both long and short sleeve versions. Have found lots in the basic style but nothing really close to the shirt in the movie.
Thanks
Mark
