Thank you RJR, it's really nice.
No, you are not the only one to pet long-haired hats. Or velours...
Nice lids, btw.
My Bacon Hatters of Chicago, by way of West Virginia. I replaced the braided band with a thin western ribbon and gave it a cattleman crease. I think the black ribbon accentuates the charcoal color of the hat.

Great hat! I agree that the black ribbon lightens the felt and offers great contrast. As always, your hat shaping skills are second to none.

Thanks Bowen, this is a really fun hat. It will get a lot of wear this winter. I was looking at a Resistol that I liked, but not my size. I got to do my own version, just needed the right hat.Ha ha ha
Ed: i’m laughin at myself!
I was finger swiping down the page and stoped just on the first hat pic, no text visible, and i said damn that’s a nice lookin hat!! I thought look at the lay of the long felt and it “shimmers”! No s**t!!
Then i scrolled down more and started laughing!! I had No idea that was the the old snaggle toothed buffalo!!
You really got a way with the beasts!
That thing is beautiful!!
See, it just needed the right owner!
That’s pretty damn cool!!
Smiles

Glad to see this thread going again. I can play. This Borsalino has such a perfect length of fuzzy. The color really sets it off well. This thread needs a bump. Here's a Borsalino Diamante longhair I picked up recently.

I'll be bringing this one out of hibernation later as the snow flies, but it deserves to be here. Borsalino Gorascu "Angora" in Misto Grigio. This hat had a hidden O.P.S. price tag that I only recently found, dating it to the early 1950s. This hat needs some stiffener put back into it. The floppyness is endearing, but a little unruly. My first longhair, and my favorite.
