For the most part, Bernard hats has terrible prices and even worse customer service. They don't return calls nor emails.
Apperantly it is one guy who sells hats in his spare time. As for the prices, i had assumed that they were in CAD as they are in Calgary. Unfortunatly i found out they are in USD, which does makes things too expensive

I always thought of Bernard Hats as the Canadian equivalent to TimothiesCloset from eBay.

The wrong end of Nebraska . . . .
Years ago I picked up a Resistol hat, a fedora if a fedora can have a roughly 3 1/4" brim. I wore it for 20 years before it grew legs and walked away. I've been watching for a replacement ever since, but after wading though the thread on conversions, I'm thinking I may go that route. Are there any Resistol models I should watch for as a conversion base (or avoid so the collectors don't lynch me)?

Hi Jim, I used a Resistol Stagecoach for a conversion. The wrong end of Nebraska? Is that Eastern Nebraska? ;)

Stagecoaches are fairly common, which is definitely a point in their favor, thanks!

"Wrong end of Nebraska" is an attempt to humorously (and succinctly) describe the environment and culture in which I live now. Too many trees, too much water, too many people . . . and I fear it will never be "home" for me.

My Father-In-Law worked on Ranches in the Sandhills for about 50 years. Around Hyannis (He worked for Chris Abbot (sp?)), so I spent a little time out there visiting. Beautiful country. I can understand why you miss it.

Did someone here snag this one? First I've seen of this model.

1960s RESISTOL, Crystal 5x Beaver - A western conversion, I completed for a client. I'm hoping I put these photos in the right place.

I recieved a work order from my client with the hat and that gave me direction on possible choices in gray, silver, pewter . But that game plan changed in the end.

I had to strip off all my work, and re-do.

She's totally cool, with me telling you the story, and that I strive to make sure my client is totally satisfied.

7-1/2 CB resized and trued, made into a Long Oval, but, a little extra, long oval. Brim cut to 2-3/4 inches, conversion complete and heading home.

Very pretty blue with a highlight. Love it!
