I can only speak for my J-22 and I was told to size down. I did not. There's no way a size 40 would have worked. I prefer a little extra room in the upper part (with correct shoulders, sleeve...) and a size 42 fits me great. I'm a 42 inch chest, 5,9. Sleeve lenght is perfect after creasing and I've probably lost around an inch after creasing. This is important and if the sleeves fits you perfect when new - the creasing will change that.

Here's the e-mail from RMC about sizing.

Hi Christian,

Apologies for the late reply, we have been catching up on emails over the bank holiday weekend.

In regards to which size J-22 you should go for the J-22 is quite boxy in the body and I think that the size one 42 would be too big for you in the chest. Unlike our other Buco models we stock, I would be more inclined to suggest a size 40 but as I’m sure you know with all leather jackets, you really do need to try to get a feel for them.
Dear Christian,

Do you maybe have a photo you fitting on your J-22? Thanks in advance!

Many thanks Christian! Fit looks even better than when you received it new. We are about exactly same build up - 42 inches chest (measured naked) and 175cm. Thanks for letting me know how it looks like after 2 years of breakin!
Thank you! Time flies, can’t believe that it’s two and a half year since I purchased this one. One thing is for sure: I’m so glad I actually bought it.

I’m going to post two pictures of a hero, in a J-22, from The Real McCoy’s. Are you ready?

This is Ralph Lauren in The Real McCoy’s Buco J22. It’s heavy. These pictures were posted by @orenim on instagram and I did recognize the jacket. I asked and McCoy’s confirmed that it’s their J-22.

Boy oh boy!
I actually had a chance to try in j-22 in 2019 in real McCoy Tokyo. I recalled I tried on size 42, which fitted me pretty ok, but when I look back the album I found two photos, which kinda make me wondering. See photos below:

I believe the one which zipped up was a j-22 size 42. But the unzipped photo looks like a sleeve length difference of more than 3cm compared to zipped up photo. I am not sure anymore that’s the picture if I tried j24 in size 44 or simply unzipping j22 will cause such a different appearance of sleeves. Are you able to tell?

The fit in your first picture is awesome and it’s defenitely two different jackets.

I think first one is a J-22 and the second is a J-24. Difference is in the stitching on the cuff.

I can’t say it enough. The Mccoys j24 is my favorite jacket to look at. I dont think i’d love wearing it. It’s just a bit too above the radar for me, but i’ve sure lost a lot of time looking. Last night i even looked for my size :(
