Selling on ebay

I saw a news report recently about Goodwill and the Salvation Army setting up shop on ebay. They have a staff theat sorts through donations looking for vintage items and/or designer labels to sell on the bay. I imagine this could have an impact on what is available in the shops.

some UK second hand shops have started doing this, I managed to get some wonderfully cheap seamed stockings from one.

In general UK second hand shop prices are rising ridiculously, I've seen things from Peacocks or Primark selling for more in a second hand/charity shop than they would new.

BobbieJean- there seems to be no reason why you shouldn't sew what you want. Lot of us forget that our thrift stores are 1 1/2 miles away and they can be visited as we make a trip to another store but in your case it is different.

I am 60 and my Mother sewed some but it was my Grandmother who did it to any degree of regularity or complexity. It has become a luxury of time to create with the sewing machine. My Grandmother had more time. My Mom worked more so it ws harder for her, and my wife has no time at all working full time +.

But if anyone does have the ability and time they should sew. It's a creative process that not only saves a few bucks but satisfies a feeling of accomplisjment.:eusa_clap
