This auction ended a month ago and I'm still kicking myself for not bidding. I'm trying to convince myself that it probably wouldn't have fit, but....it's not working.

kamikat, assuming its just a nightie/lip type thing (technical terms there) i am actually wearing a modern one right now. It fits and looks exactly like that and i got it from primark before christmas xxx

I've been on the lookout for a pattern like this for a while. It's small, so it would have been a difficult grade but it's the only one like it I've seen anywhere online. I even upped my highest bid before going to bed.

Kamikat, I have drafting instructions circa 1957 for something exactly like that, I'd be happy to scan it for yoy if you'd like to try your hand at drafting it. It doesn't look so difficult.

Yuppers, only sleeves. I have three sleeve patterns and Ive had to fight for each one of them

Perhaps its the novelty of an accessories pattern, seeing as they are just not that around. Ive even seen 50s sleeves go for $45. Mmm, sleeeeeeves.

I had my eye on that pattern but it quickly went out of my price range. I never find sleeve patterns in my size, they are usually much smaller.

Have you ladies done any flat pattern drafting? Sleeves are a great place to practice your slashing and spreading techniques.The green one looks to be a petal sleeve with added fullness.I would do something like this, then slash it to add the gathering.

I was watching this too. Crazy price! I love the C sleeve. The 30s silk shirt I wore on the Queen Mary had sleeves cut like this. I live them, They are so feminine.

I'm pretty new to sewing, and I was just wondering if you meant that mail order patterns are any less "covetable" for some reason, or whether the ones in the group are "basic", as in nothing all that special.

I ave a drafting book that has a whole section on sleeves but I havent been brave enough to atempt any sort of pattern drafting. Well I did do some doll clothes that came out suprisingly well.

I love mail order patterns, and generally dont distinguish from them, but they tend to go for cheaper than over the counter patterns. This was over the counter price. Shipping included thats $7 a pattern. Geeze, that a lot. Plus the designs of the dresses are no too interesting. Pretty simple.

I was watching that, but I only wanted one of the patterns so I couldn't justify buying the whole lot. You think $7 per pattern is a lot? If they sold individually, they would probably have gone closer to $15 each.
