I've been enjoying the games but find swimming b-o-r-i-n-g! No offense meant to you swim fans..;)

Hey, it's better than watching shooting, at least you can tell which one is winning. Shooting is like watching grass grow, which is ain't doing in Oklahoma this year. Before anyone gets up in arms, I usually shoot a winter pistol league and monthly matches in the summer. Competing fun, watching not so much.

They couldn't really do otherwise, if they want any traffic.…

Depressing, isn't it? I'm afraid I've lost an awful lot of respect for a lot of people over this. Still, there seem to be well over half of us in London who just don't want to know about the whole sorry nonsense, which is encouraging at least.

I agree with that. While swimming bores me the fencing absolutely infuriates me. That artless, aerobic, bouncing around while looking to whip the other guy with your flaccid excuse for a foil bears no resemblance to real fencing! There is barely any phrasing between the participants, glancing blows appear to score points, and for some reason touches on both sides do not invalidate a point. Just awful.

GAWD, I love the Three Musketeers, the book and all of the movies (that I've seen anyway). It's not fencing, it's slapping with a stick. I was going to go try fencing, but in Wichita it was cost prohibitive at more than $100 a month just to be in the facility (if memory serves).

I think we (fedoraloungefolk) have a narrow perspective about fashion.
Remember the Olympic Teams try to appear to be: traditional, different from the past, in touch w/ the present and, looking to the future.
The sum of the equation is: the current uni's.
Sometimes I need to remind myself, that I am a fraction of the general populas.
Yes the uni's were homogenized but, lets consider that the Asian and African country's did the exact same thing regarding their country's common attire.
I almost think the USA team looked closer to TFL than most.
