Thanks, Ross. It came to me apparently unworn and without remnants of a bash so it took a few days of playing with it before I settled on this Carlsbad i think it is? I couldn't bear to put the same bash to hat I have on five others!

I’ve had this for some time. It was a 7-1/4, a little snug and the sweat was delicate. I would wear this hat off/on, but not regularly. The sweat finally died, torn in several places. Thanks to a new sweat from Scott, I broke it down, cleaned it, reblocked to 7-3/8, and rebuilt it. Cleaned the liner. It’s a really nice embroidery. Shaped and hand creased. It’ll go from infrequent to regular wear! Super felt on this.

Really pleased with this. Original receipt is clocked 1960. Tan body, light brown 6 ply ribbon band, forest green binding. A spectacle of my collection.
Loving everything from the dimensions down to the stitch.

That’s a great Nutria! 1960? I was thinking it might be late 40’s, do you have the original sale receipt? Great western, excellent to see the decorative style brim.

You know, that stumped me too. Allow me to add some more photos.

I’m thinking it was old stock. The price tag in the hat matches the price paid. The crest and block tags point to late 40s - 50s . They did not write on the block tag, so I’m guessing 50s?

That's a great one, JJ. I'd think it was produced several years before the sale date. If it's a 3 1/2 x 6 you'll find that hat listed as an Arminto in the Miller Stockman pages. I have the same hat in a 3X that is a 60's model.

Wow. If that isn’t a total jaw dropper of a lid then I don’t know what is. Could it be any more perfect?? Whatever you paid for it, it was worth that much. And now that it’s yours, the value goes up. Sentimentally at least!! Congratulations. Definitely post a few wearing it, cowboy!
