Ok, I knew Joe to see him but not well. Never knew Lee that I recall.
North of town on the old Hwy.
That's the place!

Jake can have it to himself now.Sorry ... I guess we sort of thought we had the place to ourselves for a second.
He looks like he got half-way dressed for the day before he realized he was still wearing his robe and slippers.

And here I thought "elephant bells" in the 70s was an aberration.
I recall that TV and movies had a brief fling with the Thirties nostalgia, before "The Fifties" became entrenched with the advent of Happy Days and the like. Robert Forster starred in a Thirties L.A. private-eye series, Banyon; and a film, The Grissom Gang, with Kim Darby, was another adaptation of the novel No Orchids for Miss Blandish. And we got They Shoot Horses, Don't They? as well (though that was 1969). No doubt there were other Thirties-style films and TV shows I've forgotten. In late '72 a theatre in the French Quarter ran a double feature of The Treasure of the Sierra Madre and High Sierra -- my first time seeing both of those flicks.I believe it was the Bonnie & Clyde film that started a trend in the late 60s.
In the early 70s, Arrow Shirts were packaged to promote that era.
Also Big Red Parker pens.
I worked in retail store and every payday I would treat myself to a pinstripe shirt with
colors reminiscent of the 1930s.
