pearl gray for daytime, black for day or night—making its wearer feel taller.

My grandmother had a wooden head
statue about 12” dia. hanging above the
dining room.
During the day, I was mostly outdoors
playing.
It was at night that the thing became really spooky especially when I had to walk past the dining room to go to the bathroom. I swear those eyes were staring at me. :(
