I just saw this in a Schott email.. I dig it. Nice hardware and 2 way zip is a nice touch, the only thing that bugs me would be the open sleeve gussets.

I just saw this in a Schott email.. I dig it. Nice hardware and 2 way zip is a nice touch, the only thing that bugs me would be the open sleeve gussets.

These pics (and info) were from the Facebook introduction and there are a few things that are described differently on the Schott website. One was the gussets. The actual Schott site says “Leather sleeve flap behind sleeve zippers”. Is this “flap” attached to only one side? If so, that seems pretty weak for a jacket that otherwise should have some motorcycle cred.

Another conflict was the back length which I’ve seen printed as both 25.5 and 26 inches (both a bit overly generous in my opinion).

I have a 641HH cafe racer and really like it, one of my favourites.

Personally I find 2 way zippers harder to get on with and more vulnerable to failure over time.

All that said and done it does look lovely.....

24-24.5” is also the sweet spot for me with most jackets.

I almost posted about this when I got the email but figured someone else would so here we go.

Seems like this is pretty close to what people have been asking for in all the previous threads about the Shinki Schotts–a jacket that is a mainline Schott (in this case the 141) done in Shinki, rather than a new design. I'm impressed that they kept the quilted liner, too, and (to my eye) an improved version with the tartan cotton.

I would be tempted to buy this but I don't really wear cafe racers. Even so it's a tempting proposition.

I grabbed one of these pretty quickly when I saw the email. It checked almost all of my boxes. The only feature I would change is angling the chest pocket like my 613sh.

For anyone wondering, the sleeves and body (underneath the removable liner) are lined with a more slippery nylon.

The zipper on mine is a bit fiddly to get lined up and started. I found a trick where I get it most of the way there, hold the left side of the jacket down with my left hand and lift my right shoulder to get it set in place with a satisfying click. We will see how it holds up but the zipper feels plenty beefy and Schott is good about repairs if needed.

My thoughts exactly. I don’t need another Cafe Racer, but if I did, this would be it.

I like it quite a bit. The leather is a really nice midweight (compared to a 613sh) that’s immediately wearable and enjoyable. Many of you probably know what to expect from a Shinki jacket but this is my first exposure to their leather.

For reference I’m 5’8”, 185 lbs, 40” chest and 34” waist. This is a size medium. There is enough room for me to wear a layer underneath without feeling constricted, but not too baggy over just a t-shirt.

Haha, maybe I should specify that a layer to me is usually a thin sweater and not typically a thick hoodie. I can squeeze a hoodie underneath but a thin cashmere sweater is warmer and more comfortable. Being able to remove the liner helps if I do want to wear a hoodie underneath.

Schott’s listed back lengths including on their spec sheets include the collar.
