As per the Detroit post ... please refrain from Company Bashing ( that's NOT what this post is about) come and comment on the jacket .. hats, jeans even my weight ... but I'm tired of the company bashing guys .. so if that's what you want to do then please look away now .. cheers

As per the Detroit ... slim 44" ... fits great, a tailor couldn't have fitted it better.

1st up this heavy grainy steer is ULTRA thick and heavy .. +4oz ish but also soft, flexible and matt ( which is what I liked .. it's like heavy oiled steer).

I went fo my own lochcarron lambswool "Auld Scotland" light blanket lining throughout - even the sleeves with a sewn inner of moleskin ( 3 layers), black moleskin pocket bags throughout and no storm cuffs. My normal 2 x inner pockets and a removable muton collar in black ( no pics as I forgot).

The zip is a talon and it weighs a ton ( this is winter not spring attire ) ... personal reflection, the Lochcarron alone would have sufficed :D

great looking jacket,,,,,is that halfbelt a bit low ;)

You beat me to it, Peter. That crease above the halfbelt is where where the halfbelt ought to be.

Just looks a VERY long jacket to me.

Must be a bugger to sit down in, without unzipping it:eeek:;)

PL you are indeed a jacket whore of the highest order! I salute you sir. These pages need more whores like you

Is this black steer the same weight as the heavy brown, or is it a bit heavier? I wasn't expecting 4oz

It's MUCH heavier ... the chocolate is about 3oz 1.5 - 1.75mm (the Black is 2-2.2mm according to my micrometer) still thick but this stuff is MAN THICK ... it does feel very nice though and not unbendable like Chromexel which I find torture to break in to be honest :D)

That is a good-looking jacket. It's a good fit, overall. The tartan is a good choice, understated. I have a Johnson Leathers Hercules in that same dense, soft, thick steer. Heavy, but, very comfortable to wear. Yeah, I like it, Plumb. Good choice. Your pics are a bit hard to follow, but, once I got my neck loosened up I enjoyed them. Thanks.

By chocolate you are meaning the one they call 'Heavy brown grainy steerhide' right? If so that seems about right to me - I bought a roadster in that a week or two ago. I would've posted pics but my camera has been out of action. New memory stick arriving today I hope..

I'm glad I'm providing a service :D ... it doesn't seem to matter how they look on Photobucket they still seem to upload sideways :D :D I'm sure someone MUCH more IT savvy than me will be along to fix them before I bring the tone of the place down :)

Here's how I envisage the length (and halfbelt placing)of this.

PL's on the left. My preference on the right:D;)

I was just going to post mr Plumbline is a 42 S not R and your pics demonstrate that !

I'll bet my jacket collection the arms are again to long, but only slightly this time, because the shoulders square up perfectly.

I love your posts... as a rule. You have great jackets, great taste and a collection to drool for. However it's hard enough for me to look longingly when the pictures are RIGHT SIDE UP without drooling now I'm totally up the proverbial crick. I'd just gotten used to cranking my head to the right to view your pics when lo and behold you STARTED POSTING SOME UPSIDE DOWN!!! Now I'm a tolerant man, in most things, and as I said I'd like to grow up to be you leather wise BUT you're starting to make my head hurt with all this twisting. Oh by the way I like the jacket and your discussion with Maj/Maj about halfbelt placement is fascinating. I could see myself wearing said jacket and I also like the brim.

Great jacket!. I do like the fit of the first better though...BTW I could feel the eyes of my co-workers on me as I turned and twisted trying to get a look at the photos though.. Great way to limber up in the AM!

Hey Schitz, we are still awaiting the pics from the Aero you received recently and now you've gotten another?? Please don't let life, family and work get in the way any longer.. We need to see what you've got! A quality review please.
