In the Far East, trouble-seeking father-and-son duo Rick (Fraser) and Alex O'Connell (Ford) unearth the mummy of the first Emperor of Qin (Li) -- a shape-shifting entity who was cursed by a wizard (Yeoh) centuries ago.

I hope it is good. I'll give it a shot.
"a shape-shifting entity who was cursed by a wizard (Yeow!)"-what a difference a letter makes.;)

Sincerely,

I don't think she is. They got another actress to play the character because she didn't want to do it or was busy with another project.:(

No Rachel Weisz, I fear. I'd say after the Oscar doing Mummy 3 wasn't particularly appealing.

They've cast Maria Bello in her stead:

But is Maria Bello going to do an English accent? I know this has been talked about in other threads (Dick Van Dyke:D ) but I find that most Americans do a horrible English accent. And a bad accent can ruin a movie for me.

Ah! They're actually shooting this in my hometown. I was drinving down the Bonaventure autoute when I saw the whole set. So when a certain scene will occur in the movie I'll be able to say "See that bad guy there? I was driving not so far behind! :D

Nice costumes. I especially like what they have him in. Practical adventuring gear, but not too close to Indiana Jones in look. Obviously if they have him in a B3 the climate/location in the story must call for that, but nonetheless, if they wanted him in a leather jacket that's a good choice, as it's nicely far removed from the Indy type. An A2, for instance, would be too close Indiana Jones. I love the Indy films and there is an inevitably similarity, but for me the Mummy series was sufficiently different and enjoyable in and of itself that it would be a shame to see it too open to accusations of being a rip-off. My 0.02c, anyhow.

I'm looking forward to this one. not quite as much as Indy IV, but still! :)

I see a huge run on knock off B-3s coming up! Still, it does look mighty cool.

lol I wonder will they have the pcoket issue..... It surprises me just how many firms there are out there making what they claim to be "exact" or "historically accurate" mid-market B3 copies which all have the handwarmer pockets. I'm sure a lot of folks out there who don't care about total accuracy the way folks in these parts do would see it as an improvement to the design that there are handwarmer pockets on those jackets, so they could be sold accordingly. Otherwise, there are probably a bunch of people buy these not wanting something bang on, but not knowing and trusting the claim that they are spot on historical recreations.... I see this with Irvins too (not least the company that bears the name Irvin nowadays and professes to be the original actually sells its jackets with handwarmers, in the same price bracket as the ELC etc accurate versions).

I wonder if we'll see what happens with so many movie costume props: a range of official merchandise which isn't remotely accurate, and a whole bunch of other specialist companies actually producing something quality which is accurate. lol
