I go to movies nearly every weekend. Sure, I remember the huge themed theaters of the past (Northgate in Seattle used to have Viking ships on the wall). Those are mostly gone, still when the lights go out the experience can still hold some magic. I think it's important to reward those who still produce the good stuff or only the other will be spewed out.

Hollywood left me behind years ago. They are following the money, and are making films for the people who buy the tickets. Those are young people, less than 25 years old.
Hollywood pumps out movies about Gangsta Thugs, flying thru the air ninjas, ridiculous special effects and bloody gorry horror films. None of these have a plot. Violence and sex sells tickets. Untill they start making films with an interesting plot I'll just stay home, I've already been doing it for years.

Nic Cage will always have a place in my heart if only for his performance in Vampire's Kiss. It's as utterly demented as the film itself, an American Psycho before Bret Easton Ellis got around to it. His recitation of the alphabet is genius, and a single moment of genius is a fair trade for untold hours of dross.

Nic Cage is dead; long live Nic Cage.

For an Italian, he has the worst Italian accent I ever heard. See, or rather don't, Captain Corelli's Mandolin. (though the book was enjoyable)

LOL, yes, that was a pathetic attempt. Its a wonder he even bothered. Like KevinCosner playing RobinHood w/o the english accent...
