My Dallas has a listed depth of "G" with a similar vintage Mallory Ten having a depth of "H". I have no idea what these letters represent. That's gorgeous, 40. Love the color. Congrats on a great pick up.
Incidentally, I just checked and my Dallas (post-Stetson) has a Depth of "R."
The open crown spec on it is almost 6" (could be 5 7/8"). If that is any help.

Could they be flange "depth" designations? Sorta like the degree of "cup" on the brim flange. My Dallas has a listed depth of "G" with a similar vintage Mallory Ten having a depth of "H". I have no idea what these letters represent.

I think that sounds about right.Pretty sure they're crown height designations. I believe all of my Mallorys are letters like this, rather than actual numbers.

Mallory "The Dallas"
Yours is only the second one I've seen with that color liner (maroon? plum?). The other one, fortunately, is just a few feet away from me right now.
You guys with these beautiful hats make me...........I can NEVER seem to get any of these in my size....I actually saw a nice Whippet and a Resistol open road clone AND a Mallory Dallas this past weekend.........all in the smaller sizes....Mallory "The Dallas"

Sadly, I am a 7 1/2 to 7 5/8............hard to find in vintage hats....Thanks for the kind words! What size are you?
It is, but I do run across them.....it seems 7 3/8 and up, get more and more difficult to find with each size increase....Yep. Even 7 1/4 seems to be on the large side for vintage.
