In the process of restoring this nice Durable A2, here’s what I find in the front pocket…
I will look in the pocket.

Another jacket with the code 33. This one has a store label.

What a magnificent jacket! Who were these guys ? Never seen a Durable with less that magnificent leather. Look through this thread.

California Store label is interesting, but makes sense. The Durable label/maker is the biggest mystery in leather jackets. To me, a mystery that the Wild One jacket is but a part of.

Just yesterday I had my Durable MC jacket on. I can't imagine a better jacket in that style, fit and finish. The Best.

The leather on the above jacket is most unique. Reminds me of my Victory leather Bill Kelso. Very fluid.

Oh man, we sure dorkified this jacket.

Can anyone tell me, who was making the belt buckle for these Durable motorcycle jackets?

There’s no marking on mine, they are both solid brass casting…

Thank you for the info & the photo.

I'm asking because I have an old(er) 618 with a buckle that is quite uncharacteristic for later Schott jackets. It appears very similar looking to the kind of buckle that I have seen on most Durable jackets.

It's a very heavy, solid nickel Buckle with a no longer readable stamp.

Oh man, the minute I saw this jacket in the other thread, I got flashbacks, haha. I know the exact listing you're talking about and I stumbled onto it literally the day it was posted! The seller would have shipped, but I didn't want to take the gamble for $500 - the way they wanted the payment wasn't secure in that there was no buyer protection, and unfortunately, I decided earlier that high value payments with no purchase security is just not something I wanted to do after being scammed twice the same way. I tried to see if I knew anyone in Florida, but no dice.

All that to say I'm really happy the jacket ended up in the hands of a fellow lounger. It's a rare jacket in an even rarer condition. Congrats on the find!
Was on eBay?

Since it's been established on an other film jacket addicts forum, that the jacket worn by Marlon Brando in the Wild One was made by Durable (and not Schott), those jackets have become very valuable and quiet rare to find...

I'm a lucky guy, then, because I own 2 of these jackets, and n°2 arrived today!!!
:-D

I thought I'd share this with you, guys.
Look at the incredibly good condition of the material: golden zippers like new (Talon), the leather is a bit finer than my other Durable, but very well preserved, lining is like new, and the satin sleeves lining is fine and makes it very comfortable to wear.
It's a size 44.
Enjoy!

I'll try to provide fit picts ASAP.
the condition and the history of the jacket makes it a true treasure.
