Varga49 gave me this link in another thread, I thought it should be included in this forum. Looks like an awesome place to visit. http://www.hangarhotel.com/
It's also a place where the Texans can get together. Kinda Central Texas located. It may apeal to those Texans that are more western than northern. I can make the trip in about two hours. Plus my inlaws live in Seguin and my brother in law lives in Fredricksburg.
Count me in if it's after the new year. I'm from Ohio, but I've got a wedding in Weatherford, OK in March. I've also got relatives in the Dallas area so I can easily plan on that!
After the new year would probably work for me too...I'm trying to save up for the QM and Christmas, so doing it before then would be a little tight. Let's definitely do this though. T'would be a blast! Fredricksburg is one of the oldest cities in Texas (in fact it may be the oldest one or 2nd or 3rd oldest).
I'm a bit late to this thread, but they have 2 large WWII hangar dances at that hotel each year. We've stayed there 5 or 6 times now. It is an awesome hotel, truly made for those of us who love the 40s!
The next dance is August 19. They just opened a brand new "Pacific Showroom" facility, huge, straight out of the PTO. We always have a big contingent (myself included) that go down in uniform for that. Should be a blast!
