Thanks Alan.....

it was driving me nuts......

You have to use a url that ends in ".jpg". What you give above would work as a link to the hats.

Or simply copy and paste the IMG Code Photobucket provides:

A bunch of great green hats!

Bolt, I liked both those straws. And the one with the blue ribbon is dazzling. Not something you see everyday, surely not for everyone, but it is an unlikely combo of colours that works for me.

(BTW, I seem to remember you had a thread about this particular hat's creation? I can not find it now)

Regards!

St. Paddy's Day Bump!

Well, with St. Paddy's Day right around the corner, I thought it might be time to dust off this thread. I know that some green lids have made an appearance on the Lounge since this thread faded from view a few months back. Let's see 'em! :)

Here is an olive/khaki green Lee Adventure, with copper brown edge binding and ribbon...

Stetson Temple in "sage." (It took me a while to figure out it was green. Sometimes it looks brown, sometimes black, but when you wear it with green there's no doubt.)

Great hats.....Ms. Portolan should have this one coming in

next week. I have a Moss Green that I picked out at Monteagle coming from the Major....I guess that makes us both members of the Jolly Green Giants! My hat is the second one down in the green pile of hats! Seriously! Mike rejected the top one! See how it looks in its pre-Mike condition? I will post pics once it comes in its finished form!

Good idea Jimmy, bringing this one back in time for ol' St. Patty's Day.

Here's some I've acquired since the last post. I'll probably wear the darker Dobbs on Tuesday.

I've wanted a green fedora since I read Neil Gaiman's book Anansi Boys, in which Anansi always wears a spotless green fedora and lemon yellow gloves. According to the book, you have to have a certain amount of moxie to pull that off, and I like to think I have enough moxie for the hat, even if not the gloves.

The variety of colors here makes me wonder what shade of green Anansi would wear. I think it would be pretty bright, perhaps lime green to match the citrus theme of lemon-yellow gloves. Also, some of these hats look very versatile and easy to wear, so the green would have to be more striking than the muted tones of many of these hats, in order to be difficult to pull off.

Anyway, I really want a green hat now, though it will have to be cheap. That means vintage, I suppose.

Point of Clarification.....

The Fedora I pictured is a Stetson, bought from JohnnyPhi for my wife.....The Major Moore Moss Green Winchester fedora should be here in the near future...I have no pictures except for the rough body in the stack at the factory!

FYI

From an email that I got from Sam at Everything Australian today:
I have organized with Akubra to have a special run of Campdraft hats in the
colour bluegrass green. I have ordered 50 hats and they will be available in
approximately 3 months. I will shortly update my website to again include
the colour bluegrass green. Please pass this message on to anyone who you
think might be interested. Thank you very much for your support.

I'll post this in several threads, because I suspect that it is of some interest to my fellow Lounge members.
