Look what was hangin over my head like the Sword of Damocles as I sipped some of my latest shipment of wild puerh flowers from YiWu Mountain wearing a nice rayon early 50's loop collar Dauntless shirt I found in the outback.

OK, so if that much of him/her/it is dangling that far off the roof, or whatever, how much more must there be to be hanging onto whatever it's hanging onto? If you follow my logic.
Obviously that's not a large enough snake to threaten an average sized adult, but what size critter or small child would be vulnerable to its gentle caress?
Yes, it is a beautiful creature.

knife the s.o.b.; then toss inside large leaves, bury, start a fire,
and let smolder for an hour or two. Or simply grill over fire.
Grab a beer and mustard, turn on the game and have a snake sandwich. ;)

eat your pets?

I couldn't eat him, it'd be too much like munching on a pet, we have a lot of rodents around these parts, and it's a long and ancient tradition to have a snake in the roof.
We feel honoured now to have him up there, it means we have sort of become real locals or something, and the house is now truly part of the landscape.
He actually dropped down from there about 5 secs after we took the photo, and I just missed having him land on my head. Which wouldn't have worried me too much unless he'd bitten me on the face, their bites tend to fester a bit I'm told.

We used to get possums (North American variety, still marsupials) , and raccoons in our back yard in Brooklyn.
Glad to see you have a healthy attitude toward your reptilian friend. Snakes are elegant creatures, as long as everybody keeps out of each others way.

I was having an ice cold beer in my buddy's (early 19th cent. log) house last month, talking to friends when I noticed a large black snake winding up the fireplace.

Hmmm.... that's not wall art
, sez I. I'm quick like that, you know.

my lizard on the wall

My Dad had Geckos or some type of lizards that lived IN the house on the walls. I asked him if they would kill them he said no they ate the "Skeeters".
We have them as well, the Asian variety has somehow made it down here from the tropics and is displacing the native ones, but they do eat mosquitoes, seen it happen many times, as well as moths and cockroaches, they are seriously fast at it too.
