It looks like it says "Cora" or "Cord."

That would be Coro, most likely, which was one of the most popular costume jewelry makers in the 40s and 50s. There are tons of Coro pieces on Ebay, so that might be one way to start searching. I search pretty frequently for Coro stuff, so I'll keep watch for this one.

By the way, that is a stunning piece you have there, Pink!

I have one cheap Avon gold-tone bracelet from the 1950s that I may be able to find matching pieces to go with it and a Napier necklace. I really like 1950s Lisner costume jewelry but that's probably out of my price range like the jewelry from Haskell, Hagner, Schiaparelli and Trifari I dream of:rolleyes: Maybe I could find similar but cheaper designs from the same eras.

I also have a broken Whitby jet necklace I need to re-string. It was latest re-strung in the 1920s so it's older than that and I'd like some more whitby jet. Things as different as Berlin iron work and bakelite interests me too. I definitely need more pins and earrings 1950s and older.

Lisner had some nicer sets and pieces made in the 1950s but I'm afraid it's out of my price range. Maybe they made cheaper ranges too. Trifari 1930s-1940s pins would go nicely with some of the pieces I have that are unsigned but suit that style. Haskell and Hagner are similar to the style I collect.

Honestly, I can't even believe this coincedence, but I just read this thread for the first time yesterday thought your necklace was so pretty Pink Dahlia.

Today I was goofing around on Etsy and I think I found a bracelet match:

If not exactly, darn close. What are the odds - I have a terrible memory for most things, apparently not pretty shiny things!

Gosh, that's so pretty!

I often find that, even if I can't find an exact match, other items by the same maker get me pretty close.

I am also looking for more of these dishes! A friend gave me some large and small plates, and I found a few more plates (4 for $1!) at a local antiques market. I've seen them rarely on Ebay, but they are hard to find because most of the pieces are unmarked on the back. They are Homer Laughlin and the design is unidentified (I've even checked with a china matching service). I'm looking for small plates, saucers, cups and service pieces.

mmmmm..i think my church kitchen might have something that looks like this..they have a squillion of odds & ends., it's worth a look.i will have a peek over the next few days( i have a key;) )

Do you know who the maker is or what the pattern name is?

It is nothing extravagant. It is "Royal Vale", but bears no pattern name.So i have not had much luck. My Mother received it as a wedding present from her new Mother-in-law.

Missing earring!

It's been missing since my dad bought the "set". I don't know if it's vintage by any definition and I don't care but I do hope it's common.

Excuse the quality but it's the best I can do right now. I know that sort of defeats the purpose of getting anyone to recognize the set and help me.

Lillemor, is there a maker's mark on the back or clasp?

No, I carefully looked over all sides of the earring and the necklace and I'm not seeing anything that would identify it.

bump! I've received the necklace and to my surprise it has no maker's marks or any identifying marks on it. Can someone help me find matching things? Or if you come across anything, please do let me know via PM!

Check very, very carefully! I have a Coro necklace with that same blue shade of plastic. It has a similar style hook clasp and the only mark is on the hook itself, where it says "Coro" in script so small it's almost invisible to the naked eye. Try taking another look with a magnifying glass.

Well, I don't have a magnifying glass, but I've examined this thing so closely I've almost gone cross-eyed. I'll have to see if I do have something to magnify it but I don't think anything's there.
