Personally not a fan of the new aesthetic, especially the light tone. However, change is change. The articles section is interesting, though.

Yeah, I already miss the old header image. And I liked having the "Watched Threads" link on the Forums page; it made it very easy to locate the list of threads I was interested in. I finally found the link to that after searching for a while, but still stumbled onto it mostly by accident.

Edit: I just discovered the "Watched Threads" link in the drop down menu under the "Forums" link in the header bar, so never mind. :D

Other than that, I don't mind the new "dark/lights off" color scheme. It's not exactly, "Wow, this is so much better!", but it's not horrible and I'm sure I'll get used to it quickly. Sorry Nathan, that's about as much enthusiasm as I can work up for it right now.

What a surprise this morning when I logged on. Gone is the unique lounge 'vintage' style & on with the habitual forum interface as on most other forums.
I can't see the option of style choice anywhere so either we adapt or see if the grass is greener elsewhere.
I'm presuming there are more changes in the offing so I'll hold back & see what occurs. As is, me no likey.:p

Edit: Found the light bulb thingy, it's better but I feel as though the management has thrown out the old comfortable leather club chairs & replaced them with brand new faux leather IKEA stuff.. You can't stop progress I guess & we just have to put up with internet sites changing their formats from time to time. Don't listen to me anyone I'm just a grumpy old fart finding it increasingly difficult accepting change for change's sake. The young whippersnappers on their whizz phones should be happy though.:D

Well, I'm getting 7 ads on just one page of this thread that I'm viewing right now. I don't know if that's any more or less than last week, but I can see where Hadley is coming from.
It's the same reason I stopped using facebook; I want to see what people have written, not forced to view a stream of ads an algorithm has decided should appeal to me.
I appreciate that the mods offer their services for free, and the place needs income to run. Seven ads does seem a lot on one page.
I'm off to buy some insurance, get a Big Mac, and play an app game (according to my ads). Kills the mood.

Yes, a bit ad heavy. (why did I get picked for a bridal jewellery ad? :) ) Having said that, I don't mind the ads really.

Otherwise, I don't have a real problem with the new look, though I did turn it back to the dark background mode as the light background is, well, a bit too bright for me.

When I loaded FL this morning it came up white and I was like Holy Crap! But there was a note on how to black (gray) it out, so I did that immediately.

The difference is definitely noticeable but has not impacted the way I use the site so for me that means okay fine.

But I will use Zombie's suggestion and see how that looks.

All looks good to me in what I can see of the new look.

I think the logo/top bar at the top of the site is a definite improvement, though the red '4' - presumably number of articles I haven't read(?) seems a little distracting and it feels a little like I'm being nagged at for not keeping up.

The font on the posts seems good, clean and easy to read. I think it all looks a little more modern overall whilst still having a classic look. I do prefer the dark option and it is great to have the option to swap. Well done.

Only thing I'm not so keen on is the side bar on the right of the site as mentioned by others. I don't know what the purpose that serves. I don't need to know who is online now, how many members there are overall on the forum and who has updated their profile recently when reading threads - I find it a little distracting when I am reading threads and it takes up unnecessary space.

I'm glad something has happened though as I noticed a small change about two weeks ago when the sidebar appeared on the old design, this coincided with a problem wherein the forum was crashing my browser every now and then, this doesn't seem to have happened so far now the new design is up.

I admit I don't utilize the Fedora Lounge forum as much as I did 13 years ago when I first joined (wow, has been that long?), so I really don't have a "dog in the fight" about any changes. Adds or no adds, light or dark, new look or old, none of it bothers me in the least, because I'm just glad the FL is still here. Thanks to those who put forth an effort to keep it running.

The new format is great to view on my iPhone.
There's only one ad at the top.
Scrolling down I only see the posts
no stats or sidebars.
The only other ad is one in the middle:
C705AB59-6C52-402F-B89C-A180EE0C1C80.jpeg 7E60AC50-20F7-4556-B4B7-5DEA98F7EF85.jpeg
The images keep changing to show a variety of outfits which is cool eye candy.

I have to scroll to the bottom to
see who's burping and how many members are in the lounge and other
details, otherwise just the posts.
On Mac computer, it's totally different.
The sidebars are next to the posts and there are more ads.
The only thing that's annoying is that
the lights go out and the page goes
back to hospital white until I log in
again which involves several steps.
Before, it was simply a matter of
going to the upper right corner to
Log in. The background was a nice
black background regardless of whether
I was logged in or not.
But if Lizzie likes it... then it's ok
with me.
And If she were to leave...I doubt I would be here as much, it just wouldn't
be the same without her.
