Nineteen year old Stan Hiller did that in 1944.

Personal helicopters seem have have a way of thwarting predictions.

Question: Does the AirScooter auto-rotate?

Answer: The AirScooter is designed for the recreational sport flyer and as such does not auto-rotate. The AirScooter is designed for recreational flying at low altitude where even traditional helicopters have little benefit from auto-rotation. Design efforts have been done on a ballistic emergency chute for the AirScooter.

Yikes!

No Auto-rotation + rotorcraft = Lawn Dart.

Flying into Oshkosh is one of the greatest thrills ever. Controllers are so busy they say, dont talk back to us, just wave your wings in acknowledgement.

We used to camp at Fond U Lac, where all the warbirds stayed, sleeping right off the runway. Every morning you could hear the giant radials and big Merlins and Rollls crank up and roar past you.
