Thanks., Professor. I was confused about that as well. My Anton Peschel-made Disney that mayser dated to late 50's has this crest.

I didn't know at the time that Disney contracted out all their manufacturing. I thought it may have been due to overseas manufacture.

It's marked on the sweat, "Exmoor," and the tags under the sweat show a price of $12.50 and the size at 7-3/8.

I'm guessing this is late 50's or early 60's??? Did Disney still sell hats into the 60's? I'll keep reading here...

I've seen the Disney name on hats that were definitely 60s. I think, like a lot of some of these brands, the name was sold off and continued under some other manufacturing umbrella, such as the Hat Corporation of America (not saying it's them) or the like.

I'd guess from the liner, sweat band and general style, mid-50s. What are the dimensions, and are there any other tags under the sweat you can post?

I looked under the sweat again and it says Danbury, Conn.

The link to The Hatted Professor goes weird on me and my antivirus kicks in and stops me from going there with warnings about going further...

I was going to point you to my Disney article. I'm not sure what's going on. I keep tabs on the site and don't see anything problematic. The page and site operates this morning with no problems on a Mac, a PC, and iOS devices. I don't use dangerous scripts or anything like that.

No matter. I love this hat. Interesting that it has a triple stitched overwelt. I still turn down the front brim. And the hat goes so well with my navy cashmere jacket. I'll probably wear it to church this week.

OK, on your assurance I bypassed my spyware warnings and continued on to the website and found this final tidbit:

Disney Hats underwent a branding change in 1947 to "Mr. Disney," featuring a standing figure dressed to the nines, in tails and a top hat. This logo would continue to be used in the crest of Disney hats for the rest of their existence.[21]

Does this mean my hat was made prior to 1947?
