Anyone any ideas what this is? It seems like a fairly regular mid twentieth century design to me, but it hangs so beautifully... I'd love to have one. Unfortunately this is the best picture I can find online...

Thanks! I did trawl that site looking to see whether they did a direct version, bearing in mind they do the suit... for some reason I managed to miss this one (I think i had it in my head somehow that the Doctor was wearing a single breasted.... so hard to find a decent photo of it where he's not obscuring the front detailing). A little beyond my budget as of right at the minute, but for something that should last a lifetime...hmmnn.... definitely on the wishlist!

You think that's expensive... I have a couple of serious Dr. Who fans who wanted the same material as the original (a faux-suede upholstery fabric) which ended up putting the finished coat at $1000. It's beautiful though. :D I'm hoping to add some new images of this version to my site within a month. In the least, it'll make nice eye candy. ;)

Kind regards,
Indy

Hey Mag, did you get the detail where the jacket pockets have an opening at the top of the pocket flap as well as under it?

Are you talking about his suit jacket or overcoat? The overcoat looks like a normal pocket, but I could see the suit jacket having an open-topped flap.

Kind regards,
Indy

Ouch! Interesting to know what the fabric is - to my untrained eye, it looked something like a cross between moleskin and a canvassy type material - it seems on screen to have something of the light yet "stiff" feel that a quality trench does, IMO. I love how it flows... I'd never be able to stretch to quite USD1,000; hopefully one day though I'll be able to afford having you make me one in "as affordably close as" type fabric! I've got my eye on the Doctor's suit too.... actually, I'm tempted by the brown one which is still just that bit more iconic, IMO, than the blue version of the same suit he's also been sporting in this series.

Henry, re Doctor Who, this should bring you up to speed fairly quickly:

If you can pick up BBC World where you are, I'd be very surprised if they don't show the relaunched series on that.

I simply love the Dr.Who style. I just got me a trenchcoat and a pair of brown low top sneakers.

BTW- That suit is one of the coolest suit you're offering, though I think I'd take a Chinatown suit with that fabric.......... if I had the money! ;)

You should add that shot to the suit's page. ;) You also really grabbed my interest with the tie. That knot is tiny! (It's a good thing.)

My love interest is a Who fan. I haven't quite caught the bug yet however. She is to Dr. Who as I am to Star Trek. [huh]

Here's a fairly poor shot of me in my Tennant Suit:

Here's a clearer one of the mannequin:

Sharp! I want one of these bad, but there's a few others things that are just a smidge higher up the list for now.... I'll definitely be onto you about a suit in the near future, though!
