It got far too "cutsey" by the end, but the early seasons were gold.

Cliff explaining to Theo the value of a dollar remains a classic scene in all of TV history... ("See, the government goes for the regular people first.")

That show is brilliant and I watch the reruns (plus I watched it the first time around). I do have one complaint- the 80's sweaters. Hard on my eyes. :)

Yes those Coogi sweaters were intense but strangely cool...

Agreed on all counts.

"The Shirt" was a classic, too.

The one that stuck in my mind was the episode where one of the kids had failed a school essay on the Civil Rights march on Washington - Bill Cosby's monologue on the presse guide that the kid had used as sole research was hysterical. "What did they say about the Boston Tea Party?.... Lot's of famous celebrities were there."

Not a show I would ever have sought out, but if it happened to be on and there was nothing else I really wanted to see, a pleasant enough diversion.

I grew up watching The Cosby Show and still watch the reruns today. The later seasons are not nearly as good, but they truly are classic.

I liked the episode where they lip synched "The Night Time is the Right Time." Great show! One of the few sit coms where the father wasn't a buffoon.
