One Too Many
I bought an old box of books and inside amongst a lot of Australian military stuff was a USMC yearbook from Parris Island, no date but looks Vietnam era, for platoon 260. I know there are some USMC members (or ex) in the FL, anybody know any more about this thing.

They used 3 digits up until the '70's if I remember correctly. The "2" means it was for 2nd Recruit Bn, the "60" just denotes it's for the 60th platoon to go through the depot in that year. Unfortunately the numbers just rotate year by year, as far as I know there's no way to tell which year's 260 it is.

So it was probably later in the year, depending on how many platoons were training in each series at the time. I went in in Jan. of 1991, right at the beginning of the year, and was in Plt. 2006 for example.
