The Chicago Cubs Are Going to the World Series!

Game 7 was not great baseball but it damn sure was great entertainment. I used to tell my players, "I love it when you play well and we win as it makes me look like a great coach." Madden needs to be telling his players they saved him from being the goat if they lost. Players make or break a manager.....win and the manager is a genius, lose and he is a bum. Give me a good team and the best I can do as a coach is not screw it up.
They speculate that the Cubbies will not be worth the huge sum of $4 billion, second only to the Yankees in franchise value.

Was talking to a friend this morning who recorded the game so he could zip through commercials. Since it was a live event, he set to record an extra hour. He missed the 10th inning.

HA! We do that for the super bowl, though we zip through the game to see the commercials!

It was a miracle for the Cubs.

Joe's giving Hendricks the way-too-soon hook, Chapman's miscued pitch were hellish. But the divine rain delay, sermon-in-the-dugout, and comeback were miraculous.

Mabel Ball waited her whole life to see the Cubs win the World Series.
Born in 1908, the year the Cubs last won the World Series.
Six days after she got her wish, Mabel died.

Chapman's miscued pitch were hellish.

Same thing when he was with the Reds. Every now and the someone on the other team catches up with one of his mistakes. Maybe it's more likely since they're already behind.
