Now we gotta see some new pics!!:D

It comes from the way I used to wear my cap in the Army, can't wear anything with a bill any other way!:eusa_doh: I just rolled it up and wrapped a rubber band around for the night. When it went back on my head it straightened up some but kept a curve.:D

didn't work

...you can upload them directly by going to the box below the reply box you type a reply in and clicking the "manage attachments" button. This will allow you to upload your photo directly to the Lounge's server. A clickable thumbnail will then appear on your post, allowing anyone to view the picture. I hope this has been of help.

When I tried this method, I get the message "upload of file failed". It is NOT over the allowed size.

Any ideas?

David,

I had the same problem, I gave up on it. What I did was registered on one of the image hosting sites (I use Image Shack). Down load your images there.

Then select an image from your downloads, right clik properties, copy and paste the image URL into the FL Message dialog box using the Insert Image icon on the toolbar just above the message window, a small script prompt will appear in the upper left corner, past your image URL there and clik ok.

You may also want to read the FAQ section for further insight.

Hope this helps.

Linen Cap

Hello fellow cap wearers!

I was wondering - can anyone recommend a good linen cap. I'm looking for something that is suitably stylish that wont have me ushered on to the nearest golf course ;) . Ideally I'd like something I could wear with a light suit for summer. I think I'll have to order from overseas (ie not Australia) so I'm after some good advice.

Suggestions, recommendations and photo's welcome!

B-Wearers

Rather than starting a new thread, could those of you who have a B-Wear cap tell us what cut you chose and post pictures or link to them if you posted them above?

That would be a great help in deciding.

It's about time for a new cap. I have but one, a Churchhill from its Pace Setter Collection, wool tweed of a dozen colors but basically a greenish brown, having a satin lining and sweatband, with a rust suede bill and side panels. I got it 30 years ago, so I need some help here.

Though newsboys are all the rage this year, even the less floppy ones dwarf my small head, so I'm looking for a sleeker type, but one that comes well down on my head and does not sit right up on top. As for fabric, I want 100% wool tweed, and I have no particular preference for weave--houndstooth, herringbone, etc.. Yet there are countless kinds of wool--Harris, worsted, merino, Cheviot, blends of these, etc. What's best? Naturally, I desire the highest quality.

I'm big on authenticity and so am drawn to caps made in Scotland, Ireland, and England, but are caps constructed there really any better? Perhaps a cap made of wool from one of those places but assembled elsewhere? Color? I'll know what's right when I see it, but something that goes with a wide variety of clothing shades.

I think what I want is called an ivy or driver. Is there any difference between them? If so, what? Are there other names that a cap which meets my requirements above go by?

Are there types of cap sweatbands and linings that that are considered signs of quality? If so, describe what I should look for.

I saw a couple caps in the Hartford York catalogue by Irish maker Jonathan Richard, the County and the Vintage County, that appealed to me, but those are just photos with a very brief description. Does he make a high quality cap?

Are there cap name brands that I could count on to be assured of quality, as is Akubra in the world of hats?

I really appreciate your help. Feel free to provide additional info I may not have thought to ask which would be useful to know when selecting a cap.

One of the things I like about FL is many times I have to look up terms that youse guys use, like in the post below yours, Shaul referred to a "B-cap", yet another name for the newsboy aka herringbone aka driving cap. When I googled "b-cap", I found this site that might be of interest to you: http://mariposa.yosemite.net/bwear/

I may be wrong but since I have been looking at getting a B!Wear myself, I don't think they are the ones that offer different cuts. I think that was hatpeople or something like that.:)

I had a similar problem with another vBulletin board (one where the moderators do not allow the use of image tags), and it was described as an internal server error. I think it might be a bandwidth issue, possibly too many people on the Lounge at that time to allow an upload.

Both B!Wear and hatpeople.com offer different cuts.

Yes, right! Somehow I thought it was the B!Wear site where they explain the different cuts, but it's really Hatpeople. I hadn't checked for some time before I wrote that.

Ah, that makes it even more difficult.

So, could those who posted pics with caps from either brand tell which is which cut?
