Hepville is Bela, from Germany; He stopped posting here on the lounge more than a year ago if I'm not mistaken. I believe he was the first lounger to start making caps. I started making 8 darted caps when he was already making and selling 8 panel newsboy caps. He has an etsy shop.

My new pleated casquette. Le Couteau, made with some truly remarkable antique fabric. Hand loomed, hand dyed cotton from Bulgaria, made between 1900 and 1920. It has that delicious slightly rough nubbly texture of handmade fabric. Lined with 1930's Japanese kimono silk. Full leather band and leather visor, vintage United Carr snap and 1900-1910 buttons. It's also my first cap of this design with a stingy 2" brim, like my 1920's French 8 dart. I think the stubby brim suits the crown nicely.

I can wear this in all but the hottest weather, as it breathes and is relatively lightweight, but keeps my head warm on this autumnal day in Sydney.
