I would rather wait for the right size. I have to send it back tomorrow and get one size bigger. I don't want to damage the sweatband or something.

I am!
I also have to get a haircut and find the right light and background for a photo shooting. Maybe some well dressed extras posing in the background.
Less than this just won't do.

:eusa_clap Great news about your new caps with the leather sweatband and all. Very cool.:clap2:

I guess in the future I will come up with summer linen caps too. I still have something in mind... I have access to fabrics from a traditional linen weaving mill in Germany. They have some nice narrow loom linens I´ve already used for shirts (in lighter weights). I may see if they have something suitable for me caps.

Since we've already talked about that in great detail I'll be sure to place an order for a linen cap in a few weeks. :D

Do those caps run small then FFF?
You really have to go 1-2 pages back in this thread for the sizing info. But I try to make it short

The metrical sizing is correct. The US and UK sizing was a cause for some confusion. So just measure your head with the metrical system and you are on the save side.

Pardon, which style Wigens is that and material? Great cap.
It was called a 'Wigens Robert' on the site I bought it from, but you have to be a bit careful, because I've seen online retailers mix the names up on Wigens styles - even the Wigens site has this cap listed under two different names, http://www.wigens.se/kepsar-l1698 - claes and bjarne. I thought it was a Harris Tweed, but it is actually lambswool - very nice herringbone tweed though. I bought it from Northern Hats for $60 - they are having a sale on them at the moment - half price! but they have sold out of the charcoal and only have the brown in L and XL. http://www.hatsncapsdirect.com/servlet/the-2278/Ivy-Cap-(Brown)--dsh-/Detail?category=Wigens & their ebay store http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ivy-Cap-...971534932?pt=US_Hats&var=&hash=item826841fa29. My head is just under 59.5cm, and this cap is marked 61cm but the cap fits me pretty well. I think it is the best made and quality cap that I've bought - the fact that I am so keen to wear it and think so highly of it, after preferring newsboy caps for quite a while, is a testament to how good these wool Wigens caps are.

Delmonico Hatters also have the brown Robert http://www.delmonicohatter.com/Wigens-Caps/9065P_814049.htm Full price, but individual sizes and I think these caps are worth their retail price - I'd happily pay $100 to $120 for a Wigens... but if you hunt around the web you can get some fantastic deals on them - saw a Wigens Hans Harris Tweed on Nordstrom for $44!

Here you go, belt outlet has the grey Robert http://www.beltoutlet.com/rosiwolwieab.html I'm sure you will find more if you google.

Oh wait, you are in Norway. You might be better looking for them under the Wigens site name for them then Bjarne and Claes... http://www.wigens.se/innehall-c1/sh...produkter-c1619/kepsar-l1698/bjarne-keps-p121
http://www.wigens.se/innehall-c1/sh.../produkter-c1619/kepsar-l1698/claes-keps-p114

Haha, so in simple response to your question it is a Robert, a Claes, or a Bjarne

Interesting fabric - kind of looks like a coarse emery... or a deliberate multi-coloured pilling. Looks good. Attractive cap.

I tried a little experiment. I've pretty much exhausted all the City Sport Cap searches on google, and so I tried City Sport Casquette instead. What I found was a heap of great photos when you scroll down 3/4 of this page of a heap of City Sport newsboy caps showing the two different sized newsboy styles they have in a number of different fabrics. No international shopping option that I can see, but interesting to see.

So this is a really cool cap imho... I´ve looked at all my sewing stuff, fabrics and supplies and suddenly this cap was already done in my mind.

This one´s got the full package:

Brown Harris Tweed lined with very soft and thin cotton flanell (please take a look at all the matching lines of the plaid).
You need about 25% more lining fabric this way... but the result speaks for itsself.
Snap closure, adjustable buckled back.
I gave those rivets about two or three hammer strokes more than needed...normally I´m not a big fan of distressing/ aging new stuff but I thought in this context it will look good.
It´s a size 60 but it´s very suitable for a size 59 too because of the adjustment that can be made. I´m a size 59 and it fits me good.
Anyone interested to have it?? If not I´ll gladly wear it myself :D

Recently got this cap from eBay. The seller claimed it was from the '40s, though I'm thinking this is actually not really that vintage at all. It has a leather sweatband, but the lining and size label seem rather modern. Do any of you experienced cap historians wanna take a crack at guessing it's authenticity?
