Manfred, that vintage cap is a serious winner. I love the pleats and the circular swoop on the sides! Does the size 55 fit you? That's mighty small!

I, too, have bookmarked the Sterkowski caps and hadn't bought one. Nice to see they're good quality.

Manfred both of those, the sterkowski and the oxford, are excellent caps. I'm sure your head will do them justice, can't wait to see pics of them in action.
The sterkowski will look perfectwith your pea coat and leather jackets.

I love this little baby. Deadstock sample cap from 1950's. I'm calling it linen because it doesn't feel synthetic. Super lightweight and translucent, perfect for the Sydney summer which is revving its sweltering gears. Came with two alternate color swatches clipped with a rusty staple to the back of the cap.

It should be European, going by the size designation. Does the cap have a snap? If so is it branded?

Long shot, but check the back of the buttons. They might be "Drei Ringe". Unlikely.

I thought "Oxford" was a French brand.

The Oxford Cap arrived today.
I don't know who produced it. Whether, Germany, England or USA.
How old, I only can guess, maybe 40s or earlier!

Thanks Pete for your opinion. No snap on the bill. It's a needle or something similar.
Here is an ad from 1912 posted here in lounge with a similar style from, I guess 1912.
Top right!

Manfred, if I had that cap I'd consider head-reduction surgery to get into it. Absolutely beautiful, mate.

Hey Keith, got another of those linens or saving it for yourself?

It was the odd orphan in my new shipment of vintage 1920's caps. It's a saver, Mike!
