The Cap Faction

Is that for a cap or a French judge's hat?

Barry that block is definitely for a cloth cap as it comes a part. The block is placed inside a cap at the end of production to get a good full look.

Here is a video I have posted before of City Sport caps production.

They discuss the blocks at the end of the video.

Interesting piece either way, my first thought was cloth cap also. However, I'm no expert when it comes to blocks.

Terrific cap, Che!! Dave is an immaculate craftsman. He recently made me an old style banker's apron, and it's so beautifully detailed. Love to see close-ups of the crusher!!

Che is that some of your Vintage street cars that run in San Fran? When do they use the open top one?

Ed,
Yes &
Car 228 from Blackpool England built in 1934 has been out almost daily this summer & still is running daily the last few weeks.
there are only a few certified Motorman to operate this car & they have been enjoying taking it out in the cooler & sometimes foggy weather.
It pulls out around 10:30am & returns before 7pm.........A good safe & reliable runner,
another Boat Car is being delivered any day now & once it is compliant to run revenue they should be a regular site on the F-Line
Jose actually sports a Captains/Skipper cap for this car......
If I had a disposable income I would buy a DD cap for the entire crew !

I won't make this a habit, but I thought it would be of interest here... I've pulled out my very best 1920's adspeak for the occasion! I'm starting with a half-dozen, then adding more as I go. A great way to thin my collection!!
