That looks very much like the one you had... perhaps a little newer vintage. Nice find!

I tried to wear that one out a few times and even with ample padding there would be times where I would turn my head one way and the hat wouldnt turn with me. I was very happy to see one in my actual size pop up.

The sky blue Strat...I think he was wonderfully lucky to not have to arm wrestle for that one, what real beauty! Maybe even more so as some times sellers cannot get a decent clear picture on a listing. That hat looks very clean and no issues. Have to wonder how the size and measurements are? :)whoo:

Alan's on the money its a size 7 which dramatically lowered the competition. I do still feel extremely lucky to have landed it though.

Yes indeed, Alan is the "information central" when it comes to hats, have to say he is light years ahead of us here in my home, when it comes to hat knowledge. The silverbelly or grey seems to be the norm for most clean vintage Strats, but that blue....wow! If I could find one to fit my Husband, I would be willing to part with some serious cash. I am seeing some fairly clean Strats on eBay around your size, but the seller seems to already be involved in the "Space Program" as the pricing is in some other orbit! Zooom! LOL!

I seem to recall Alan had a sharp hat like yours (or close to it) and sold it for a very sweet deal price a few years ago. The blue hats...super nice! You should take a picture of yourself wearing that one!

Stetson 7X CB 3rd time around

Raing day in Georgia. So, rebuilt my 7X CB. New sweat, and a good Naptha cleaning. Put in a cleaned Stetson liner. Original 3 strand cord. This was a Shudde Bros Refurb, so it's on its 3rd life! Great old felt!

Ps......adding a couple of mine.....a 1955-56 3X Stetson Longhorn, and perhaps the quintessential cross over hat.....a early 60's 3X Stetson OR!

PS...ps.....I added pictures of a mid-60's 10X Resistol plantation style and a 50's Stetson 3X ( not marked as a OR) with a telescope crown.....and one of my favorite modern production silverbelly Premier Stetson Stratoliners....
