Just rented this with a friend of mine.
For those who don't remember it's the one with Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston.
When it came out in theatres I figured it was a standard romantic comedy of errors and gave it a pass.
I was pleasantly surprised by it on watching. It had funny bits (some very genuinely and not crude funny bits) but was really a fairly realistic depiction of the common misconceptions, misunderstandings and differering expectations of a relationship. (based on, for one, my experiences with the ex-gf I was watching it with)
The arguments seemed very familiar, not as cliches, but as arguments I've had more than once. The different approaches to "teaching them a lesson" seemed spot on as well as the difference between the public and private fronts presented. It also explored friendship and brotherhood and love despite flaws. Really more of a funny drama than a straight comedy.
I loved the absolutely non-Hollywood ending.
If you avoided it as a "Vince Vaughn" comedy, I'd give it a try.
