I have been on the hunt for a real bowler for a long time. Thanks to Steve @mayserwegener, I was able to get this awesome Huckel "Flexible" bowler.

Rick - man, that is a fantastic bowler and it looks great with your denim jacket! (Ps, they look ok with a coat and tie...if you have to really dress up!) I'm jealous, I'll have to look for a Huckel to add to my collection. Steve @Meyserwegener is another one of those great enablers. He helped me find a nice Mauerer bowler a couple of years back. Again, congrats on a great bowler. Wear it often.

Thanks Randy! I must say though that you (and many others) unknowingly nudged me over the edge. A good vintage bowler in my size is hard to find. I consider myself lucky!

Once you go Bowler, you never go back, Rick.

I was given my first Bowler in '96. The next 13 I picked up during the last 3 years. My pesky kids got in the way inbetween then :)

Hope you find more in your size soon. You sure look cool in them, my friend!

Rick, Looks great! Now you have an original JHS Melone!
Thanks again Steve, The more I wear it, ponder it, contemplate it, I like it more.
I am truly grateful-blessed-lucky-fortunate to have it. This is my first real vintage hat of this era and country of manufacture. Sorry for gushing, I get emotional real easy these days, I kinda lost it there for a minute!

Just so everyone understands, BAS (bowler acquisition syndrome), a subset of HAS, is equally courageous!

So BAS got the better of me again. Couldn't resist this one, especially as it was going for a song on Facebook Market Place.
Not sure who made The City Hat, but the label places it from Germany.
Lovely pleated liner.
It's quite heavy too at 204 grams. Crown height is 14cm, and the brim is 5cm.
In over all very good condition for a 1920s/30s Bowler. IMG_20210305_185358_1.jpg IMG_20210305_090708.jpg IMG_20210306_160635.jpg IMG_20210305_115425.jpg IMG_20210305_185410.jpg

Excellent bowler, Steve. I've found a few hats on the Marketplace myself.

I guess I need to post my Radium colored British Woodrow for the record. I recently recieved this one from Stefan to satisfy my BAS for a few days!
