The Borsalino I sniped from Dinerman

A little while back I won an auction on eBay, and realized after the fact that the bidder I outbid, dinerjunk, was likely dinerman. I promised him I'd post photos once I had it.

The hat is a Borsalino Grand Prix-Paris 1900. I'm not sure how to describe the tan color--maybe I should get a color chart! Here are the specs:

Brim: 2 1/2"
Crown: between 4 1/4" and 4 /2" at highest point as it's bashed now (seems higher to me somehow.)
Ribbon: 3/8" (So I've got a thin ribbon hat!)
It also has a wind trolley.
Size: 7 1/8

I find that some 7 1/8 are a bit small and am leaning a bit more towards 7 1/4. This one fits just fine, though!

I like it too!

EPIC HAT!
The 2.5" brim looks just right on ya' too! Congrats on a super score (& regrets to dinnerman, natch') I love these thin ribbons. Is the color really a warmish tan or is it more silverbelly?

Thanks, everyone!

I appreciate the kind words.

Riccardo, it is indeed an Allesandria model. I don't know enough about Borsalino hats to know quite what the means, though. Still learning!

Rick, it's a warmish tan.

RBH, thanks for the warm welcome into the Brotherhood!

John, here are the requested photos:

As you can see in this last photo the front of the sweatband had at some point come away from the hat and was sewn back into place. It doesn't detract at all from the comfort or look, though!

Cheers,
Tom

The corrugated section at the front of the hat is meant to be there and is a great detail. Again that is some terrific hat:eusa_clap

Yup, that's a good 'un, TY. Borsalino still makes that model (or they did the last time I was in the new-hat store), but the new ones are nowhere near as nice. Those interior shots show it to be an earlier one. The newer ones have different liner designs, the liners are glued in (rather than sewn), and they lack that cloth size tag.
