Thanks for the kind words, everyone. It was rough and will never be flawless but it came out pretty good.

I've always been curious if the corrugated front sweatband thing had any noticeable effect. Now I'll find out

Thanks for the clarification on the color, Jlee. It's a real chameleon. It seems the pics always come out different than the naked eye

Never seen that before (that covers a lot of ground!), how often does that come up? Is it period-specific?

That type of corrugated vent system goes back to at least the 1930s. Also used by other European hat companies. For example this late 30s J. Hückel´s Söhne Zephyr Seal Velour has one but it's hard to see in the photo.

P. & C. Habig Wien had something called "Ventilo" which uses felt ventilation shafts.

Unmarked Borsalino

I recently acquired a unmarked Borsalino from a antique store. There is no liner just a plaid fabric sweat band and a small black tag with Borsalino in gold. It's grey felt with a thin band. I've come up empty everywhere else.

I've posted else where in the lounge but was wondering if anyone in the brotherhood could help. This is a Borsalino I found in a antique store in milwaukee. Pretty plain, but in great shape.

I have no idea other than I found this in a antique store in Milwaukee. It's made from 1 piece of felt and has a plaid fabric sweatband. Inside is a small Borsalino tag. I've come up empty. Any help is appreciated, thanks
