Borsalino Augusta longhair in Sepia. Size 56 with the overwelt brim at 6cm and the crown 11cm at the center dent. The colour is a rich and deep brown colour which is really attractive.

Thank you, Randy. I expected this one to be one to move on, but it turned out so nice it's a keeper. That is, as you say, a very rich color.
Nice find, Joe. Those MGL hats have great felts without exception. The ribbon colour would be C. Marine (ink seems to have filled the C a bit) and the ribbon does look a very dark blue on my screen. Nice!Borsalino Marque Grand Luxe XXXXX

Borsalino Marque Grand Luxe XXXXX
Ghiaccio (Ice/Sand) Supershort Velour like felt
4 3/4 crown as shaped (5 inch open)
1 1/2 black grosgrain ribbon
1 7/8 raw edge brim
This beautiful stingy brim Borsalino came off a tip from @deadlyhandsome. The thin lightweight felt is a super soft almost velour like felt with an extremely short nap. The color is Ghiaccio.... Ice grey with sand undertones. The ribbon color name I couldn’t make out exactly but appeared to be D. Marine.. though appears to be black. A black yellow and red feather is tucked behind. The brim comes in at just a hair under 1 7/8 with a nice sharp raw edge. The manufacturing tag points to early to mid 1960s. The only damage appears to be a circular groove in the brim.. possibly from over aggressive cleaning and a couple of tiny tiny moth nibbles under the brim. It weighs in a fit trim 94g.

Thank you Stefan. Indoors I almost see a hint of blue.. (especially after I read marine) in bright light it goes black on me.Nice find, Joe. Those MGL hats have great felts without exception. That's a Borsalino stingy brim beauty, Joe. Nice find.
Finally, the sun came out in December. My new to me Borsalino Peluche looks even better in the day light.
From Italy via Detroit to Denmark. I think it's journey is complete for the time being
Interesting labels on this one. I wonder how much Henry the Hatter designed and what year it's from. I don't think it particularly "vintage", but then again, it's not that new either.
It's my first Peluche felt. To the touch, it's a delightful mix of a velour with short hair petting possibilities.
The treble wave brim stitching is quite unique and perhaps one of Henry's design features.
Anyway, I really love this one and appreciate the glances it gets from people in the streets of Elsinore. A big thanks to Panos @PanosChris. View attachment 294284 View attachment 294285 View attachment 294286 View attachment 294287 View attachment 294288 View attachment 294289
The Puluche is fantastic
It's a cool find, Steve. Ghiaccio is a great colour. I wonder if the "Roberto" refers to the model. I've seen that type of brim stitching on early seventies hats. I'm thinking that period for this one as well. Finally, the sun came out in December. My new to me Borsalino Peluche looks even better in the day light.

Steve, The "Peluche" Borsalino is pretty and I would place it in the early 80s.
It is a hat born of the changes in taste between the Seventies and Eighties, however the finish of the felt is always a very powerful prerogative in Borsalino hats. Henry the Hatter did not design the seams, they are a Borsalino process that is found on hats from the Sixties and the lining is always a Borsalino creation that included the hat shop brand.
At Borsalino they have always been meticulous in bringing out already complete productions
If so, a nice money making move for both Henry and Borsalino.
Welcome to the lounge! We look forward to seeing your hats. Careful though; once the hatbug bites you're hooked.Just wanted to say hello!
I've been bitten by the hatting bug this winter... bought a few hats... lost out on a couple... and am awaiting delivery of my first Borsalino. Looking forward to diving into the wealth of knowledge here.
Cheers!
