The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

It's time for some more hats in this thread, way too quiet over here. Borsalino Averla in size 58 (sold to me as a 57 along with it's twin I'll post in a moment). Overwelt triple stitched brim at 6,5cm and nice straight crown at 10,5cm at the pinch. Unlined with a plastic covered crown patch. This type of size tag I haven't seen before. Not the finest felt I've ever seen, but a nice classic shape and the brim treatment is great. Label gives 79 as the first numbers so 1979.

And what seems to be its twin, except for some differences in the finishing. Borsalino Stibina (fits in with the metal themed hats) in size 58. Overwelt triple stitched brim at 6,5cm and nice straight crown at 10,5cm at the pinch. Unlined with a cellofane covered crown patch. Not the finest felt I've ever seen, but a nice classic shape and the brim treatment is great. Label gives 61 as the first numbers on the label and I haven't seen this type of label before so I doubt it would means this one dates from 1961. I think the straight sided labels first where introduced in the early seventies, but this one has another shape which I think is earlier (late sixties maybe?).

I think it's from about the same time as the other but just another Borsalino label quirk (possibly reworked by Borsalino?). They both are interesting production wise. Is there any mention of Borsalino on the sweatbands?
