Does someone want to translate...?

Basically the decision is deferred again to the end of January. As the previous proposal was rejected, they are now trying to come to a new agreement which makes the creditors happy and safeguards the jobs of the Borsalino employees. Negotiations between the union and Haeres Equita continue. Even though under the new management they have been making a profit again, the debts after Marco Marenci's fraudulent actions are so enormous that it hasn't been enough to satisfy the bancruptcy court. So they're still trying to come to an arrangement, more news at the end of the month

At least that's what I get from the article, my Italian's pretty basic to say the least. Perhaps Daniele can correct me if I've misunderstood anything.

To warm our spirits dampened by gloomy news, this old Borsalino - the only one in my collection manufactured before WWII.

Thank you. Hoping the best for the employees. Don't have much hope for the hats...

Grazie Celia!
The summary of the article of the newspaper Alesssandria was done perfectly, respecting the meaning of the complex legal situation
I personally have no desire to talk about this situation at every rustling of leaves.
When we will have a final decision I will say what I think of the situation.
Speculate solely for the sake to talk of a complex and difficult situations to really analyze it is a waste of time

Thank you. Hoping the best for the employees. Don't have much hope for the hats...
Robert you do not have to despair ..... Borsalino has produced millions of hats and many of these are still available and above all wonderful, just knowing how to look around;)

To warm our spirits dampened by gloomy news, this old Borsalino - the only one in my collection manufactured before WWII.

Great! I love the detail of that lining.

I pulled the trigger on this recently. It's expected to arrive today. Wonder about dating - 50s-60s? I'll have to see if I can get a peek at the tags. It was sold at Maurice Rothschild & Co.

Beautiful Borsa Alan, I love everything about it. And a really nice picture of you wearing it, that hat could have been made for you, only they don't make them like that anymore...

Weather permitting, I think I may wear a borsalino tomorrow too.

Grazie Celia!

Thank you, I am not very confident in reading Italian, so I am glad I understood everything properly. I agree with you, we will wait and see what the end of the month brings.

Love that one. Beautiful heathered felt, great shape. What more can you ask for? (except that it's in your size...):)

I love it even more now. Misto/Sodium Gorasgu with a yellow label... wonderful. A year or two to either side of 1950 I think. I also have a Misto Gorasgu. A beautiful big style.

I stand corrected. There's always an even better hat on the horizon (and in my size too). That is jawdroppingly gorgeous! Makes me all greedy.

"We have constant contacts. We know that the parties are working to get to the end of January with a procedure, rebuilt from scratch, which avoids other setbacks. The date is after January 25 for a comprehensive review. " Elio Bricola the Uiltec UIL confirms that has never stopped the relationship between the properties of Borsalino and the company which has been leased by the business unit. But at the moment are not carried out in view of the immediate. But confidence is, above all in the will to arrive at a final solution this time. The goal of these weeks is rigorously define the path of the new arrangement they are working on the property which belongs to the board of directors consisting of Saverio Canepa, Raffaele Grimaldi and Marco Moccia, and Haeres Equita Philippe Camperio (obtained the rent of the industrial business unit until 31 May). Reviews are particularly complex than the legal viability and sustainability. "The goal - emphasizes Bricola - is to define a path for an arrangement that will guarantee the future of employment and production and at the same time the creditors. The procedure which was rejected guaranteed on average 33.5 percent of the creditors and there were bits of forty percent. Ownership of Borsalino should not have interests at stake, than to get out of this critical phase in which there is no shortage all the problems related to the corporate intertwining with the universe that was owned by Marenco ". Marco Marenco (maxi charged with fraudulent bankruptcy) has a certain moment of the financier buys Borsalino that ends up involved with the fall of the empire of Marenco, causing total losses of over three billion euro for unpaid debts with banks and tax and not paid excise tax to the Treasury. His has been called one of the most significant failures of industrial history and Italian finance.

A haymaker with 3 billion Euro debt!

Beautiful hat. Is it the liner crest/logo that gives this one away as a prewar?

I wish I could speak with certainty on this. Half of the manufacturing label is missing, but the top part showing three letters to the left and a separate sticker for size I believe are earlier than labels with the size rubber stamped. The wide (2") sweatband with fine stitching and the imprinting on the silk liner are also different than post-war examples. It was purchased in Italy and then brought back to Buffalo which would have been unlikely during the war, I think. All these things taken into account together make me think it could be a rare older hat. But I have no compelling proof.

I can't argue with you. I just picked up two Borsalino's and one liner looks similar to yours but I assume is from a later date as you stated. Again beautiful!

Anybody familiar with the Etsy Store "Cappelleria Di Ricco" who sell Borsalino and their other brands that are "styled by Borsalino" NOS hats from the 1960s to 1980s? From their info they bought over 1000 hats from an old hat store (authorized Borsalino) in Italy.

I came across these hats while searching for a vintage hat on etsy. I searched TFL and have not found any info. Just wondering if any of these hats would be worth it. I am looking for large brim, high crown but the one listed don't appear to be a 100% match. Hard to tell the actual quality of these hats...are they mostly from the 80s?
