Up for sale is a very nice Aero jacket in seal goatskin. I a

Tag size 38"
Mid weight seal goatskin
Brass hardware/hookless zipper
D-rings side adjusters
Standard Aero label, car and motorcycle
Olive cotton drill lining
Condition: 9/10
Jacket is made by Julie Leitch

The jacket have been worn for about three to four months. Some light wear as expected on the lining as shown on picture.

Jacket measurements (difficult to measure so it’s not 100%). Best way for you is to measure yourself and compare to my body measurements:
P2P: 18.5"
Shoulder: 17.3"
Sleeve: 23.75"
Back length: 23.5"

My measurements taken wearing a base layer and a very thin wool shirt:
Height: 5.5 feet
Chest relaxed: 37.5"
Chest expanded: 38.6"
Waist (taken over thick leather belt): 35"
Stomach: 33"

I’m 5'5" about 143 lbs, and this fits me very well. It is a slim fit but not constricting, and with some room for light layering.

$700 including worldwide shipping from Norway, and tracking provided.
If making an offer please note that shipping outside of Europe from Norway is very expensive, around $70 minimum.

I prefer to do the deal over at grailed. Link to grailed listing:

Ahh I'm late for this one... If I may ask why did you sell the jacket? And how was the overall fit, specially around the armholes and sleeves? If you got to do it all over again would you do something different?

We practically have the same measurements, I'm 5 5" and about the same weight, my chest and waist are smaller 35 1/2" and 28", thought I think my ideal shoulder to shoulder would be about 16" maybe 16 1/2", I apologize for the questioning, the reason I'm asking is because I'm trying to decide between a 1930s HWM or a 1930s halfbelt, looking for a very slim fit, and seeing how we have a similar built your input might help me, I'm curious about the size of the armhole too.

Thanks in advance.

So the member - Asterix had 3 posts. The three you see above. Likely he was only on here long enough to sell his (very nice) Aero Goatskin jacket. It is possible he might see this and reply, but not likely, so it would appear he is not a regular member.

Welcome, yourself to FL - hope you stick around and learn a lot here.

If in the USA (appears you are) you can't go wrong getting ahold of Thurston Brothers, and doing thier Fit-Jacket process. It's the only way still that I buy new Aero's and Carrie has nailed the fit each time. Best off to get it right the first time. See thier thread here...https://www.thefedoralounge.com/thr...bros-official-affiliate-thread.70770/page-256

I am the same wt/ht as you. 36.5 chest/30 waist.
I ordered a size 36 premier highwayman (slimmer silhouette and higher armhole).
I would recommend for you to get a size 36 as well.

The standard measurement will be:
Chest would be 20-20.5" pit to pit range.
Bottom hem will be around 18".
I would suggest for you to reduce the waist by 1.5"-2" total depending how slim you want it to be.
I requested my shoulders to be 17.5" since I picked Horween CXL which is a thicker leather
A good sleeve length to request (using Aero measurement) for our height will be 23.5"-24".
Back length is about the same 23.5"-24" using Aero measurement as well.
Up to you how you want yours.

Here is my cordovan cxl premier highwayman w/ zip sleeves in size 36.
Fit great in the chest/shoulder/bottom hem/sleeves/length but I could have asked for the waist to be 1-2" slimmer for a trimmer fit.

Thank you both, I've been around the lounge for some time, and though my add usually keeps me from posting I do feel at home here, you guys are extremely knowledgeable and kind.

I got my first HWM 10 years ago and unfortunately it didn't fit me well, so its been hanging in my room ever since, literally.
I learned from that experience, come to think of it I'm pretty sure that jacket is the reason I'm obsessed with fitment-measurements armhole placement and so on, anyway I thought I give aero another go, this time with help. Hopefully I can nail the size because my magnoli cant take more abuse.

I do live on the east coast, I will contact Thurston Brothers, Fit-Jacket Is the way to go.

That jacket fits you like a glove, its truly amazing, that is the fit I'm looking for, second skin throughout. Your arms might be a little longer than mine but we are very similar, I was confused about the waist adjustment but I see what you mean, what is the waist measurement on your jacket and is it restrictive at all? I'm concerned about making it too small.
I'm on fence between cordovan or brown cxl steer hide, might do a custom back HB.

Those are from my best fitting jacket.

SLEEVE (SHOULDER TO CUFF) 22 3/4"-23"
PIT TO PIT 18 1/2" - 18 3/4"
SHOULDER TO SHOULDER 16" - 16 1/4”
FRONT LENGTH 23 1/2"-23 3/4"
HEM OPENING 17 1/2" -18”
ARMHOLE CIRCUMFERENCE (FLAT 8 1/4")

MY ACTUAL UNDER ARM CIRCUMFERENCE 17"

Definitely the trim fit I was hoping for but could have been so much better if the waist was more tapered. Don't worry about the sleeve length preference you will request (Aero has a different way of measuring as they stretch the leather and not let it lay flat when measuring) i.e. If you request your sleeves to be 23" like in your best fitting jacket, you are likely to get the sleeves closer to 22".

This is 18.75" across the waist measured in the middle of the hand pockets. It is not restrictive at all, I'm sure I would be fine if I take a total of 1-1.5" off the waist circumference. Maybe request a total of 1" off the waist so it's more tapered but still conservative.

You can't go wrong with those two choices. They will be pretty thick so bear that in mind, I was informed by Aero that you can take 0.5" off the actual measurement if you use CXL since it's so dense.

With those listed measurements I can say we have similar preferences with back length/sleeve length/bottom hem. My preferred shoulders measurement is between 17-17.5" depending on leather thickness, chest between 20-20.5" also depending on leather being used.

I understand that almost perfect dilemma all to well, however your jacket is wonderful, in truth if I can get mine to fit anything near as good as yours I will be very happy, my 10 year old hwm can still stand on its own and I love that thing, its a one sided relationship.

And those are excellent points, thank you very much for your advice, I will try my best not to mess things up this time.

I do want CXL steerhide in brown or cordovan, now I just have to decide the model and the details.

Thank you, I now know why cordovan is so appealing. Your original highwayman looks good in the body but a good 1.5" too short on the sleeves.

@Jin431 your photographay is also amazing! The tulip trees look so much better out there! Excellent jacket & fit as well...
Thank you, the cordovan is really nice and I'm really happy I went for it. I have been trying to rig something up sometimes but most of the time I get lazy and just do the usual tripod set up.

I know I'm being a bit picky but thats how that goes in hindsight thinking lol I'm lucky to arrive to this fit really.

Wow, can we possibly see your 10 year old highwayman? What hide is it made out of?

I think you will be okay just give your self 3-4" of ease in measurement and it should be fine. Let me know if there is anything else I can possibly help with.

I heard/seen how lovely the heavy cxl steerhide is but they don't recommend those for smaller sized jackets so maybe they'll steer you to a cxl front quarter horsehide or tumbled horsehide cxl version.

Sure.. It's made of FQHH. No chest pocket or back yoke, I was going for a clean look.
Please forgive the mess and sorry about the quality of the pictures, I didn't have much time.

I'm curious about the differences between a regular 1930s HB and the premier version, and the same for the 1930s HWM vs the premier?

Super nice! My type of jacket, clean front/single back design. This piece is extra cool. This might be too relaxed fit for you, right? I think I'm a size 34 in these classic highwayman pattern

It is very relaxed lol, wish I had tried a 34.
Sleeves are about 25" long, the armhole is very big, which in turn gives you too much material on the sleeves, I could probably fit both my arms in one sleeve, shoulder to shoulder is about 18 1/2", it should be maybe 16 1/2" to sit squarely on my shoulders. The length and surprisingly the chest feel good though, which is kind of frustrating and puzzling. Not including the side panels on that pit to pit measurement, maybe that is why the back panel is kind of to wide on top, anyway somehow the whole thing is just a night mare of a fit hehe.

Beautiful jacket but it doesn't fit me

Shoulder to shoulder 18"
Pit to pit 18 1/2"
Hem opening 19"
Sleeve 25"
Front length 24 1/2"
Back length 23 3/4"

Classic Highwayman jackets are notoriously hard to dial in. You have to get a size smaller for them, and then have it tapered because it's a square pattern. It only works for certain body types so I'm not surprised at all. Look into the Premier highwayman and the Sheene (cafe racer with collar), those are trimmer cut in pattern that will have slimmer sleeves and better body taper.
