There are few people on God's earth ever have or ever will look as cool as Bogart in his trenchcoat in Casablanca. If you look closely, Bogie's trench has been cut shorter than was the norm at the time, to sit just on his knee (rather than the more common mid-calf length). Depending on who you believe, Bogie was around 5'7", and no taller than 5'8.5". As Protein Nerd puts it, it's all about cutting it right for proportion.
