I am pretty sure that the site managers and even advertisers probably don't want the ads blocking content which it is. I find it quite irritating. I bet it can be toned down. I often cannot access the drop down windows, especially the "Alerts" which I use frequently because it is blocked by ads.

For now, scroll up when you hit the alerts button and you'll see everything.

Working on a fix.

What, fiver ?? I think the members on this forum quite understand the need for some ads but these new ads that started today are covering up and blocking some forum content. Much more than just 'annoying'...or haven't you noticed ??

I get that, Hoosier. They annoy me too. I’m hoping that the powers that be change things, but at the end of the day it’s just not a deal breaker for me. That’s all I’m trying to get across. Rather have the ads then no FL.

Wow I found this forum last week for the first time and loved it.. now can’t even read the forum with all of the adds side bottom, all over the place. I’ll come back when they are gone. Sad because this was such a great forum with a place for like minded people to post and share...very distracting now.

Same here. Started today. Can’t read a post because ad’s are embedded in the post. Down the sides, at the bottom. I love this place but If I have to deal with all of this I’ll be gone as well. I just had an ad pop up in my own post while I was typing

I have an add blocker but all the popups and advertisements interfere with my use of the site. I’ll try to get another blocker tonight, but it’s crazy as it is.

Never had a problem with ads until today. They went crazy and are blocking forum content now. Something must be done. It's a struggle to try and work around these new obstructions.

The adverts are very distracting...maybe a good excuse to take a break. I know they can get this stuff under control. I’m certainly not angry and I understand that the site doesn’t have a team of full-time webmasters. I’ll just give it some time to see how it resolves.

Great bartenders here and I’m sure it wasn’t a conscious decision to have the ads become so distracting.

Seeing the adds in some posts yesterday I thought we had been inundated with trolls.

Good morning. The adds, the adds! I stopped the annoyance this morning with by using an add blocker.

I read on-line that the adds can be controlled by ad blockers. After hecking with Apple (using a MacBook) User Forums I installed ABP (AdBlockerPlus). Typically I use Firefox as my internet browser. Easy to get to work and this morning - no annoying adds. (FYI: Typing this response I see that AdBlockerPlus has blocked 6 adds so far).

As a good citizen to The Fedora Lounge I would love to be able to support their internet presence and the admin expenses. I do not know of another option. If another option is available please yell.
