Well, the weather many of you saw in the Seahawks/Packers game has arrived in Colorado.

Here in Fort Collins we got about 4" of snow yesterday, and I shoveled the driveway about 10 PM only to find 3" more this morning...and it's still snowing vigorously. Note: there is a reason that SUVs are about 40% of the vehicles on the road around here. Forecast here for tonight is a low of Zero, but tomorrow we'll have a balmy 33 degrees. I'll be driving to Denver tomorrow (60 miles each way) but the freeways should be worn clear before I go tomorrow.

Here's a quick shot out my (ground level) office window with my camera phone:

In the mountains, they've had nearly 2 feet of snow and lows tonight may get down to 10 or 20 below.

Oh, and last night my lovely daughter returned our Blazer (she had been driving it while we replaced her old car with a 1999 Jeep Cherokee) but she took all the keys with her back to her dorm! DANG!! So my wife and I drove our BMW 325i this morning. With the built-in traction control, it worked very well. (We'll get the Blazer keys back this morning.) My 1983 280ZX Turbo is under a car cover in the driveway until the weather clears considerably.

Maybe I need to get the skis out this weekend!! WAH-HOO!!!!

The weatherman said it's heading our way too

Today the weather is in the 60s; unseasonably warm although cloudy. However, we are scheduled to get a large dose of reality beginning tomorrow as temperatures drop below freezing and continue through the weekend. Forecast: Rain to Freezing Rain to Snow.

The weather is to be expected, but the water temperature in Lake Michigan is still in the upper 40s which means tons of lake effect snow is on the way. Time to get the shovel out.

On the upside, it looks like we'll have a white Christmas.

I'm not really complaining - I may talk my wife into hitting the slopes this weekend. I only went skiing once last year - what a waste!!!

I'm hoping this is coming our way! It feels a bit odd being in the 60's and putting up Christmas decorations and listening to Christmas songs on the radio! I'm looking forward to some of the white stuff!

ETA: We now have a winter storm watch for tomorrow night into Friday...a possible 6"!! Wooopie!!! (Small potatoes for some of you, I realize :) )

I'm in Idaho, and it snowed yesterday and it was all of 5 degrees last night  with a high in only the 20s today!

Please, take back that terrible weather! I can't get warm!

What a coincidence - I checked our min-max thermometer this morning and we had a low last night of 5 as well. Our previous record in the last dozen years was 13. Today's high was 28. Very unusual for the Seattle area, even up here on the hill in the Cascade foothills.

We're supposed to be getting more snow tonight but then warm up to the 40's tomorrow, which means the rest of the week maybe be mud, flood, slush & sliding hillsides around the greater Seattle area.

I think this same storm system that blew into Texas early yesterday evening. We dropped from the low 70s to the 30s in about 3 hours. I'm glad for the rain along with it, even if it will turn to ice later; we're heading into the third year of a drought.

I LOVE my felt hat and wool coat

The weather that we have been discussing just hit us this morning. It is windy with sleet/snow blowing all over.

Normally I get a couple of odd looks in the parking lot on my way into work. Not this morning. I calmly walked through the parking lot wearing my wool coat and hat while others rushed by with their heads ducking against the weather. I love the functionality of a hat!

Nothing yet. *sigh* It's been raining cats and dogs since yesterday afternoon...I think by late morning it will turn to freezing rain and then to snow, supposedly dropping 3-5", but I'll believe that when I see it!

Two days ago we had a lot of rain, so there is ice sticking to most of the trees and fences. Last night we got between 8 and 12 inches of snow, so it is absolutely beautiful this morning with the sun shining!
