TFL Wallet

Sorry for the poor lighting it doesn’t catch the beautiful deep blue of this wallet.

I’ve had this for over a year now, maybe even 2 years. For the life of me I can’t recall who made it, but it was a TFL member. If you made this come and take your bow and take my thanks! It’s beefy as hell and has been my one and only wallet this entire time. It’s got some nicks and wear but no color loss and still has deep blue hues. I believe it’s Horween Cavalier. Cavalier is very similar to CXL with some variation on the process that allows to yield brighter and richer colors. I wish it were sunny but it’s fall in Buffalo so crappy kitchen lighting is what I got.

So again if you made this thanks and if you’re still making any I would love to see what you got!

Excellent wallet, Dan and I bet it wasn't an obscene amount of money. If a wallet costs more than I can stuff it with, I'll pass. I've also lately ditched the chain wallet, gave it to a friend but I kinda miss the chain TBH tho I know it was just a crutch to cool.

Did you end up ordering a wallet from this guy?
I remember we discussed it a couple years ago but i don't remember if you got it.

I know this is meant for @Monitor but I just checked this out and that belt looks incredible for the price. 57 Euros would be like 67 dollars. For what it is and being handmade that’s an absurd price. Just might have to order one myself now.

I’m trying to remember the cost and the exact amount escapes my memory. But let’s say it was like 50-60 bucks and that was including shipping. Which is why I grabbed it without hesitation. I remember the member had made a handful of wallets in 6-7 different colors. The typical colors like black and brown got picked up right away so had no chance of grabbing them. Which is fine by me I wanted something different and I wish there was better outdoor lighting right now so the deep and rich blue colors could shine.

He really does great work!
I have had my wallet for 5 years, used daily (it's my only wallet).

You sold me. Might get a wallet and a belt!! For the prices I can get both and spend the same amount some charge for one wallet or one belt. And half don’t look that good after 5 years.

I could never decide between Sven and Hjalmarr so I got a long black leather strap and a bracelet for my ex. Plan was to add a strap to my HD wallet but I gave it to a friend and now the strap awaits something else.
Great guy with fantastic product in any case. I constantly go between the two wallets, though.

Just realized your belt buckle is very similar to my necklace!

I went through my messages before posting this to see if I could find who made it and saw nothing. It turns out I’m an idiot. I went back through and found it buried. Too many messages might be time to clear the DM inbox. Buried in there I found the back and forth. It doesn’t say the cost was probably listed in the post. But it was in fact @FlatCap99 who made this. Thanks so much brother.

Which one?
The top one is a 70s "Baldric" buckle made by Tech-Ether

The secodn one is a Rainbow Metals Haida Bear.
The website is worthy of LW but they make great buckles:

Glad you are getting good use out of it and appreciate the kind words!

Cheers!

Great looking wallet. Love that navy leather.

Be interesting to hear from other FTP members that are into leatherworking. I took it up this year. Maybe of interest here I made this wallet from Horween Mustang leather. There’s some posts around about a jacket made from this leather and it definitely feels like a jacket for your cards.

@Mattofumi Looking good! I'm also interested to see if their are any other leather workers in the forum. I'm branching out on what I make and been enjoying learning some new techniques. New stuff keeps it interesting...even when it doesn't turn out as planned :)
