Technical features, you can really do without?

I might still have my 1967 Beetle but my wife put her foot down and wanted a car with a heater.

With my wife it's the opposite. 'No a/c, no me.'

My car generates plenty of heat, but I tore the whole system out, from the knob to the the heater boxes, and rebuilt/replaced/refurbished them - cables, linkages, and hinges and flaps in the boxes.

But she just doesn't like the shall we call it 'compact' dimensions of the car and the feeling of being in a sardine can. Me, I love it.

But wouldn't you have to get all available rustprotection to keep the Beetle alive?

I drive mine all the time . . . until it snows. Then he goes to sleep in the garage, usually about 3 months, until the season is over.

The biggest problem we have around here is the HCL-like solution they put on the roads to melt the snow and ice. It eats up unprotected metal like nobody's business.

I had a Beetle with the gas heater in it.....I feared it would leak and blow us all up so I disconnected it. If I had more courage I might still have it as the family car....my wife would be happy as it produced a ton of heat.

They are used to quickly light evenly across the foot of a cigar so the filler doesn’t tunnel burn thru the center or canoe out thru the binder. You want the filler, binder & wrapper to all burn evenly to the cap of the cigar. The bigger the ring size (diameter) of the cigar the more difficult that is to do without a proper light.

When I'm classically "toasting" a cigar to start, I can always do that with the "good old" single jetflame, so why someone needs more? I see no explanation, but kiddie "outdoor" commerce.

Also, I'm pretty sure we're all coming at this from different perspectives. For example, I'm not going to spend $15-$25 on ANYTHING just so I can burn it up; I already did too much of that while I was still a cigarette smoker.
