I believe that is a re-list with lower opening bid. I would think it could be bought by a serious buyer for less. As I like Taubers so some like others. I paid $350 with shipping on ebay. It was orginally run over $750-$800, I don't recall, just too much to stop and look. Re-listed $399 or best. She was talking to some others. I wanted it, I got it. I wouldn't sell it for either of those numbers, it's too nice. The Peters is a fine looking jacket, not my size which is good. Size does matter.

Without looking I recall the Cal Leather Pullover was a limited run at $800 per. limited because it's hard to pull off! I just saved myself some money. I may have been in if I had seen that shirt.

That Peters is a nice piece, maybe worth that money to that following. A very nice new one is $800, the Peters at $1K? If you could get in that Peters for 1K and could really fit it, and wanted one. not likely to run that down again next week. Just depends on your taste, budget, desire, level of need.

As I was talking up that shirt I started selling myself. It measure as my Taubers. I had size 36 Taubers cafe racer from the late 60s that had a corduroy lining. it was pretty thick. The sides go up higher on the Peters, that would help. I have two jackets coming. They don't come around that often, but I just got mine. I got to look into this more closely.

Dry in Arizona. other places for me to be. I have a comfort zone in mine.

On my way through Ventura yesterday, I was able to stop by Cal Leathers, and I spotted a vintage Cal Leathers Shirt that they had in the back archive. (Many thanks to Gwen for letting me look over the vintage stock and being so helpful and knowledgeable about Cal Leathers history.) Sorry about the photo quality, all I had on me was an outdated phone/camera.

Thanks for the pics. Very nice shirt. Is that one owned by the shop? I noticed they sell vintage Cal on their site. Do you stop to get fitted for your new one?

I'd be curious what they value that shirt. I would assume it is not even for sale.

You're right, it's owned by the shop. They do have a selection of vintage Cal Leathers for sale, but they are keeping this one in the archive.
I didn't ask what they valued it at...I assume at this point it's priceless.
I forgot to mention that it's horsehide.
I was in the shop getting fitted for a remake of one their vintage Starglove jackets.

i was not aware Cal was in business until Monitor made that post. Very nice looking jackets.

Starglove remake. Do you have a pic of one? Is it on their website. Want to hear about this one when it gets on your back.

That shirt is nice.

I've got the racing shirt on order in a colour called bourbon. I'm just waiting for some cash to come through to pay the balance. They are really nice people to deal with, great customer service. I think Pawineguy also has one on order?

Not on their website. But I was passing through Ventura, so I stopped by their store. I had in mind something simple, and while searching through their vintage section I found an old Starglove CHP jacket that was basically the same style I was looking for... minus the badge and lace, upper yoke on back. I don't want to hijack this thread, but here's a couple of pics of it.

Should be finished sometime in December. And I'll post a some pics of it.
